arent we all?
Federer is a great player.
He is looking sharp and fitter than the end of 2008
One of these other boys can easily upset the applecart in the next few days..
I have enjoyed every match I watched this Open and am looking forward to watching the matches coming up....
There may be an upset later this week... I love to see youngsters go for it, with nothing to lose... Not necessarily Federer but also Nadal or Djoko.
Del Potro
Simon
Verdasco played some great stuff
Tsonga . I am sure I have missed someone
they all have nothing to lose and will give it a try
So beware Big Boys... |

It was during the 4th set Zedhead. Not the 3RD. Of course, Had Berydch converted his chances in the 7th game at 3-3 in the third set he would've won the match in three sets long B4 his hammy played up. The power of shot coming off the Berdych racquet made Federer look slow. For two and a half sets, Fed was showing his age and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it - except that is hope Berdych would crack.

I watched the Fedex/Berdych match and Berdych was all over him like a rash until he injured his hammy midway through the 3rd set.Fedex still played pretty average by any standard to win the match.Against a fit top level opponent Fedex will not win.

let me get this straight...because he's won almost as many GS as Sampras(do you know who that is??)and there are other younger players challenging, tennis FANS should push him aside-you're kidding, right?-maybe choose another sport to watch?!

In tennis 4 years can be a lot. haha. I am not barracking for Berdych - I am barracking against fed! He's a nice guy and all. Just face it - Federer is still good but he's not like he used to be.

a string of unforced(not all them were by the way!)is referred to a loss of concentration-happens to every player-it not a permanent disbilty! you're arguing over an age difference of 4 YEARS-OMG!

Yeah yeah he's very experienced I know. But he's 27! and Berdych is only 23 - he's still got years ahead. If you were really watching that match you would have seen that federer was making TOO MANY unforced errors. Since when did he ever hit it into the net so many times?

there is not much that is "lucky" about Fed's game-it's skill and experience that wins matches

Actually I did watch that match. And I thought Berdych was playing really well...especially compared to how he played at Sydney and Brisbane. He really gave Federer a run for his money - Federer should be counting his lucky stars that Berdych was unable to close out that match in straight sets today.

dont talk about quality ... if u saw feds match 2 day u wud have seen skill and quality .. not many players have the ability to bounce back from 2-0 and win the match ... but i guess u didn't see that

yeah that was in Miami in 2005.
But aren't you forgetting one thing about Federer in the slams grsydney?
In his hey day, 2003 - 2008 Australian Federer was hardly
ever taken to five sets, other than in the 2007 Wimbledon final.
He was a bit that the Czechoslovakian boy got tight in the third set and later was injured. |

Yes he will be #1 again. To come back from 2 sets down and win takes soem doings and a great player to do it.
Last time federer came back from two sets down and win...give youa guess Zedbrat. none other than Nadal.
Go Roger. You will be #1 again sometime this year.
