Tsonga is looking more and more the dark hores.I think the match between Fedex and Del Potro will be a big indicator of where Federer is at with his game and if Del Potro is a genuine contender.I will be amazed if it is not the best game of the tournament.

have to say peen that Marco is my favorite player- follow his progress all year and have seen him play at Melb Park and Kooyong a few times since he was a finalist in 2006...as a tennis personality he is very special and always shows great sportsmanship. You are right...his smile would melt an iceberg and he is a cheeky fellow!!

yes twoleftfeet(love the name)...i too have been quietly watching his progress..new coach (name also eludes me) and injury ridden year, at Kooyong he looked so underdone. I heard him say last week that he needed match play and he's had a not too gruelling run in the Open to now step up to Novak...

Marcus has been ruining my tennis tipping - I saw him at Kooyong too, and expected an early exit - each round I have thought - this time he'll go - but he is steadily improving - think he is being coached by Federer/Safin's former coach (seniors moment, forgotten his name) so it could be interesting to see how he goes against Djokovic

Marcus won't last long.
regrettably zed i don't think Marco can win the Aus Open (already said in earlier post)- in round 4 he's now stepping up to the big boys and I expect Novak will be too strong. I saw Marco play at Kooyong last week and based on those performances I wouldn't have been surprised to have seen him eliminated in Round 1 of the Open - I imagine he would be pleased with his results so far this week...and perhaps grateful for the lack of media attention this year... |
