| "blood" may be used as a collective noun, therefore requiring a collective accompanying pronoun-please don't debate grammar with me! Meanwhile who is interested in the tennis and not ATTEMPTING to appear well-educated, which clearly suishiboy is NOT! |

| buy yourself a dictionary, IF you are capable of finding a newsagent/bookstore and look under "M" and "E"; that is, IF you know your alphabet and have a 2nd class grasp of English grammar and linguistics(sorry about the 3 syllable words!!) |

read your first sentence again and tell me if you think it is coherent? If you think it is then you are obviously on drugs or mentally deficient in some way or another.
Perhaps I am being a bit hard on you. My apologies. You should improve in your second year of high school. |

gee i don't know grsydney! Nadal looked awfully sharp versus Simon in the quarters. You are right though about
Nadal's hardcourt record. Maybe it's his year. Personally speaking I would like to see Verdasco win the whole thing.
What the game needs now is new blood, new winners - men and women! |

| The way that he is playing now it will be Federer for sure but he has to get past Verdasco first and that might be a problem |

| what a pathetic comment ZB. and why does Nadal deserve it more. Fed wants that #14 and he will get it. NAdal still has to show he can handle hardcourts and he hasn't really done that |

| Speed is measured in mph here in the States .It is well known that Roddick's fastest serve so far is 155 mph, that's 248 kmh. Roddick didn't get above 135 mph while I was watching. |

Thanks, Peen. I thought it was the universal KPH, but Zed referred to Andy's serves as 135MPH, so then I wasn't sure. But yes, 135MPH = 216KPH, so it would have been KPH.
Why doesn't the USA move into the modern era and adopt the same weights and measures as the rest of the world? |

| Is the serve measureed in MPH or KPH? I know I heard that a couple of Roddick's serves were well over 200...... but were they mph or kph? |

| Gilbert and Cahill said he should have teed off more on Fedex's 2nd serve and that he should have cranked his own serve up from the outset. And not to get into any protracted rallies with Federer because he will lose them. The biggest point that Cahill made was that Roddick should do a Sampras and not chase points when he's down 40-15 etc .Save energy in other words.Roddick is still a work in progress under Stefanki who I think has brought some new enthusiasm to A-Rod's game. |

| Federer's serve is under estimated by most.He has one of the most deceptive serves I have ever seen.Roddick blew it by not getting up to full pace with his own serve.I didn't hear them report one serve over 135 mph which is way below Andy's best.He had to blow Fedex off the court with his serve to have any chance.I doubt he would have even won the tiebreak if he had forced it.We have Darren Cahill and Brad Gilbert commentating over here and they pretty much said the same.Roddick didn't take enough chances but then he was in a Slam semi for the 1st time in 2 years so his new strategy must be working.Just not against Fedex. |

No Zed it's not so much the serve that let Andy down, it was the return of serve.
Boy oh boy, trying to work out Andy's strategy on when to stand 1-2 metres back and when to stand on the baseline to return is a bit like trying to get the winning numbers for the lotto.
Granted that Fed served exceptionally well but even when he had a look at second serves there were many that Andy failed to put back into play. and it's not as though Federer has the biggest serve on a court that's slow to medium. I thought if Andy could've somehow stayed with Fed in the second set and sneaked a win in the tiebreak, then it might have given Andy a chance to unsettle Roger. It wasn't to be. |

| Yes I agree with you there vince that Fedex served very well.Again Roddick's serve let him down apart from the fact that Federer pulled off some great passing shots. At times A-Rod looked like a bunny staring at car headlights. Just like in a game of chess your opponent can only make the moves that you allow and Roddick still does not have good enough court position instinct to dictate terms to a player as good as Fedex. It turned into a turkey shoot for the swiss cheeseburger.I think Nadal will knock off Fedex in the final. |
