Classic quote from the Princess:

"I'm not looking at ranking points, I'm just trying to enjoy. I've had my best results on hardcourts."

I wondered what sort of people would slam the incredible effort by a 53 year old Greg Norman to come third in the British Open.Don't give him the credit that most people are giving him ,just slash out with your jealous comments.Boy,you are a sad case mate.

Well, at least Greg Norman and Novak share one thing in common - they have a tendency to choke when it really matters.

Little Nole still has his training wheels on, despite the aberration in his career to date of winning the Australian Open. Interesting in how he has not come that close to beating Roger or Rafa since when it really matters. How he must be cursing his big missed opportunity at Wimbledon this year. And not for a second would I believe he didn't watch that entire match, or most of it. He could only be dreaming that he could hit some of the shots that Roger and Rafa do without having to try too hard.

Seems that he can't lift that additional gear that Roger can shift to; or raise his intensity and cull his unforced errors like Rafa is able to do when down or in a tight match. Will be interesting to see if he can ever develop this skill against the top players in the world consistently. He is very talented - no question, however just may be one of those folks that cannot go that extra bit when it is needed when up against players who can match him and then some.

Won't use "age" as an excuse or comparison either - sure Roger won his first major at a later age, however Rafa is just a year older than Novak and has acheived so, so, so much more and is far more mature for such a young age.

ROFL! I don't for a second believe that he hasn't seen the final. I think everyone in the tennis world has or will see it(for some roger fans it is hard). Plus his 'i heard it was a great match' line just showed that he was trying to appear unaffected.

I think Djokovic was quite embarassed by his performance at Wimbledon. He didn't hang around long after his loss.

This from an interview with Novak at the Rogers Cup (from Tennis.com)

It can't be fun for the self-asserting Serb to be pushed abruptly off the stage -- and judging by his withdrawn, slightly defensive demeanour today, he isn't liking the feeling much.

Asked if he watched the Wimbledon final, Djokovic said, "No, not too much. But I heard it was a great match."

It sits curiously with this little anecdote from Neil Harman in the Times the week after Wimbledon: "Djokovic, the world No3 from Serbia, watched the final while on holiday in Italy, during which he sent a text to Benito Perez-Barbadillo, his PR manager, who does the same job for Nadal. 'I still have a lot to learn,' it read."

tut tut Novak - your lack of maturity is showing again

My comments are purely based on Novak and not Serbians in general...show me where my post is offensive to Serbians - all comments are aimed at Novak and his family. Actually, no, given you being true to form, you will avoid any question posed to you. Btw what do you call your Federer bashing, you hypocritical tool. Shall I now call you anti-swiss and label you a redneck that is an embarrassment to your country folk living in Australia?

Also, what does (my) skin colour have to do with my post? Are you trying to incite some racist comments that you're desperate to blurt out after penting them up for so long?

Sweet, a book with 40 photos of Novak and the Australian Open trophy. What a bargain basement price. No doubt that price is applicable to Serbians only and all donations are going to support the Djokovic family fund. Word is that is all other countries this book is found as a cheap, rough brand of toilet paper.

"...Nikola Tesla, the Serb scientist who played a pioneering role in the industrial development of electricity...."

After Nikola, a distant non-rank entry: Novak Djokovic, the Serb who just plays tennis.

More serbian propaganda

http://www.novak-djokovic.com/eng/news.php/2008/03 /26/roger-federer-novak-is-the-best

Another delusional piece of cr.ap churned out to further inflate the ego of a big mouthed know-it-all who hasn't done a lot lately.

As if Roger would say 'My Mirka' and 'we are fans of all whose surnames end in -ic'.

Novak will need to perform well over the next few months to avoid becoming just a 'flash in the pan'

It is very sad if the "big wigs" at the tv stations did get influenced by no(I'm not vain!!...Am I????)vak's father into sacking the commentator! But looking at some of the parents(ie Sharapova's dad, Dokic, etc) it doesnt surprise me that they do try to influence the press. Hopefully that kind of thing doesn't happen here!!!

And there is the recent scandal as well about The Joker's dad and uncle having a heated "debate" with a Serbian TV commentator who did not praise the abilities of the little girl enough during one of his matches. There is no dispute about the incident taking place, however there is some heresay that Big Daddy had the commentator eventually pushed out of a job with the TV station..

Re:Djokovic aka THE PRINCESS -general Reply to this message
Oh dearie me - noone has anything to say about Novak!

So I found this wonderful paragraph of self-propaganda on his newlook website. It extolled his virtues until I was almost gagging. Team Serbia's PR machine must have worked overtime on this one - it also waffled on about wonderful Novak, cool Novak, gentle Novak, proud Novak, blah blah, playing tennis with some poor little pommie schoolkids, encouraging them to try harder. Thank God for Novak is all I can say!

Take a read of this bit:

"Djokovic has been marketed as the tennis player with personality. While Federer has his killer calm, Nadal his ape-man appeal, Djokovic has his hinterland. He is currently reading an epic biography about Nikola Tesla, the Serb scientist who played a pioneering role in the industrial development of electricity and was eventually poisoned; he likes to listen to opera (Don Giovanni is a favourite); he speaks four languages fluently; and there is the sense of humour. Djokovic is nicknamed the Djoker. YouTube shows his brilliant impressions of fellow players - Nadal ticking and twitching and receiving so low he is almost horizontal, Maria Sharapova flouncing and bouncing before serving, Federer twirling his racket, flicking his head and celebrating."

Hinterland? WTF?

Well gooollllleeee, I just gotta nominate this guy for something cool! He is just tooooo goooood. Just can't think of anything right this second but it will come to me
