| The AFL should tank the NAB cup if Carlton can get away with throwing actual games and not be sactioned then Roos should be given an award for stating the obivous that even the fans don't give a rats about the pre season dribble. |

Paul Roos is a pillar in the Australian community & to mention Roosy in the same sentence as Cuzz is paramount to insanity as they are worlds apart.
A question should have been asked and HIS answer SHOULD have been accepted, but no, they dragged it through the media, made Roos and Sydney look bad and all because some eves dropper near or in a dugout THOUGHT what he heard amounted to fixing a game.
I understand where it is you're coming from and I agree that accusations must be taken seriously but not in the manner that this was dealt with. Once again, the AFL got it wrong, they keep getting things wrong and that will not change while it is run by those who worry about the buck before they worry about the game and it's combatants & fans.
Dumbetriou has no respect for the Swans or Paul Roos and it shows. He is more concerned about following a fantasy than keeping things real. I can understand why the Kangaroos said NO in the manner in which they did.
He, the 'Dumb One' is a (0(k head and says cr@p that isn't worthy of acknowledgement BUT the process says you must.
There are 2 grubs within the AFL ... Hutchy and the Dumb One ! |

yeah like they should of taken Cousins word for it!
if something is suspected and if people have reported it as was suggested no matter how trivial then it requires to be looked into! (ignore Roos character for the moment and you will see what I am heading to!) It is like what happened in Italy with Juventus and AC Milan .. they earn more money then the whole AFL teams combined in a 10year period (quess!) and they got done for match fixing. COnsidering the talent they had at their disposal and all that and they still did it. Juventus was demoted to a lower dvision and deducted premiership points and AC Milan lost premiership points as their crime was deemed not as severe as Juventus ...... what would have been said if Roos did match fix and it was not looked in to and was found out 10 years later after Roos had retired. |

erik, that's bulldust. The dumb one has an agenda and it has nothing to do with a couple of words that coach Paul Roos said in jest to one of his not so good goal kickers.
The AFL shoulda just asked Roos and accepted his word on the topic. No!, they made a big deal out of such a tiny incident.
SMOKESCREEN ... yep, that's all it was. |

i think the tanking and match fixing are both as important as they both involving throwing games after all everyone says throwing NAB Cup is not important then how is throwing games when you know you ain't going to make the finals in regular season any different?
The AFL had the responsibility to take the accusations seriously and give due process to the investigation. |

| After watching the practice match yesterday maybe it would be better if its Roosy's last year. For yes I know it was a practice match and they probably were just triyng to get through it without injuries etc.... we were average to say best and from what I saw the tactics have not changed one bit. We still mananged to run ourselves into trouble coming out of the back about 35 times and still spent half the time we had to ball kicking it across the half back flank. Some of the young blokes in Moore Bird and Jack looked good though. |

| I think youll find Roosy long ago had decided he wont coach on past this year. There has already been the comments about passing onto Longmire and a couple of years ago I remember him saying in response to being asked about being a long term coach or such that he would probably not last past the end of the current contract. The AFL are being pathetic over this whole "match fixing" scandal, it really is a waste of everybody's time imo. How about investigating something like the tanking of Richmond last season and Carlton for about the last 3 seasons? Far more tangible and a far bigger blight on the game then a mistimed, ill directed and silly comment in a pre season game. |

With all the unnecessary heat applied to coach Paul Roos I feel he may well succumb to the pressure/ taunt and the 'Dumb One' will get what he desires, that being Roosey out of the game. Roos says he's cool and he can take the accusations, is happy with the processes and all the rest .... but, it's gotta hurt.
The carry on by the AFL and it's Greek God is pathetic, unjust, uncalled for and rude. Roos is an All Australian Captain, a multiple club captain and a distinguished player and coach who has never been other than a righteous person.
With this year as the last on his current contract with the club it is likely that we may be in need of the services of a coach in 2009 ... I sure hope not but I think Dumbetriou has an agenda here. |
