Well the fact is that the appeals board didn't actually take what would be the legal interpretation of it all.

They are taking into account the other matters around this. Even Farmer wrote a letter saying that he doesn't believe it was a deliberate act, therefor not unduly rough play, but if anything accidental (negligent).

If this goes to a court or VCAT type tribunal then the AFL might have a red face as legally they've been seen to interpret situations like this incorrectly.

how could Baker be given a seven week ban for something that no one saw happen? The decision was based on Baker saying taht he cut off farmer and farmer collided into him. It soudns like an accident, sure a sheppard off the ball, but not a 7 WEEK suspension. Compare it to the collingwood player (Johnson's) head high hip and shoulder in the same week. That was WAY more dangerous than this baker thing is how could baker get more weeks. It seems like the tribunal hates baker. Remember his 2 week suspensions fot the ATTEMPTED assult last year. HE MISSED HIM. If there is no evidence to say he has done anything wrong u can't convict him. What do u guyz think?
