Well they had a few players out for a while, albeit it being their own fault most of the time (suspensions from the AFL, suspensions from the club like Farmer etc).
If they didn't get so many suspensions they may have won a couple more matches and be a red hot chance to be top 4. I think the first couple of the season that they lost is hurting. |

I don't think many of the teams expected to be top 8 at the start of the season has been full strength all season.
Saints, Crows, Freo, Eagles, Swans and Melbourne have all had injury problems at different times during the year. Tough year for football in a way, a great one in another. |

| Probably not but it gets all the way harder when decisions go against you for all the wrong reasons. Saints need to finish stronger in order for these situations to be avoided. |

Tough game. About 4 or 5 decisions that cost the Saints goals and in the end the game.
The one where the umpire pulled it back after Gehrig had already kicked it comes to mind. Should have been a Bulldogs free kick from the centre AFTER the goal counted.
Umpire boss Geishan (?sp) might have a look at a few things this week. |

and if riewoldt had kicked the goal...
Saints are chumps. Great team on paper but they're soft under pressure. Did Gehrig even play tonight? |

We've beaten the Swans the last 2 times we've met but I have a feeling Swans will play well to keep their top 8 spot.
I think that even winning 4 could leave us outside the top 4 on %. Those teams should win at least another 3 games.
They need to secure a nice little win against the Dogs Friday night and then go out and play well against the Swans to keep their spirits up heading into possible September action. |

| the saints might have been in the top 4 by now. we should win 3 of last 5 to make the 8 and beating swans or eagles again will put the saints in the top 4 |
