Juventus 4 Melbourne Victory 1
A great crowd and a terrific game to watch..
The fact is Juventus are one of the best club sides in the world..
The Victory showed that they weren't going to be intimidated from the outset..and were extremely competitive with Juventus for a large part of the game..which was why it was heartbreaking to see them let two goals go in very late in the game..
Interestingly the result could have been 1-1, or 2-1 if it wasn't for the late goals by Juventus...a lapse in concentration or tiredness by the Victory boys...who knows..but what a game..
A point to make is that I don't think, once again, the Victory were at there full strength..there was talk that Carlos was playing injured..Archie was still recovering from his injury..there were boys away on socceroo call ups and where is Grant Brebnar...the problem for the team is it's lack of depth...
But I take nothing away from Juventus...and by the way..thanks for coming and playing for us...it was a treat..

Terrific game by the boys last night....
It so bloody important that the victory sign archie up for another long term contract...the difference when he was on the pitch last night was bloody obvious..
I'm looking forward to the game against juventus next week...it will be interesting to see how the game will play out..I reckon the victory are not going to disapoint here...I still can't believe it..juventus vs the victory...carn the victory..

Either Germany (1860 Munich)or Turkey will be Bruce's destination crab. On the plus side, Cassio seems to be ok and has some Brazilian mates coming with him. Willem 11 striker Cristiano has a medical to pass and right back Alameo from CA Juventus in the Brazilian Paulista, a State based league in Sao Paulo will hopefully fill Richie Alagich shoes easily. The 4th Brazilian is Miami based Diego Walsh who has been a great addition. Maybe some Samba magic happening in Adelaide this year.

I don't know if anyone else saw the small story on Channel 9's interest in getting an a-league game or two televised..It was never going to happen due to the present agreement with Foxtel..but for me it was just encouraging to see the interest was there..
Some might bag Foxtel...but shiite...people have short memories!! If it wasn't for Foxtel..far out man...I don't want to think about it!!! THANK YOU Foxtel....
It's bloody magnificent to see that some great clubs in the world game are coming to our shores....thank you..

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Yeah mate...just a little frustrating I guess...
They nearly came out of the game with a point..
The first goal was an error in the back..slack/lazy defense..I thought it was amusing once the goal was scored and one of the players closest to the goal scorer was pointing to another player further away, as though to lay blame...tehe..
Heads up though...victory are still in it..

Personally, I was happy with the way Victory played..
The second goal for the opposition was magnificent..
They still have a chance of qualifying, so all is not lost!!
Congratulations to Adelaide...even though they didn't win they have kept there chances alive as well...

Well if both Victory and United do well tomorrow - they are in the blockhole for a place in the finals.

Should be very interesting tomorrow!

So how in the hell are Sydney affording the three new signings under the salary cap restrictions!!! The rest must be on pittance..
The Asian Championships are coming up and I can't wait as I believe Victory are going to be a good show...

Great to see that Nick Ward is staying (if reports are true) with the victory..Nick made a real difference to the team when he played..Sad though to see Adrian Caceras leave for greener pastures else where...I believe Central Coast have signed him...
The Asian club championships are coming up next month and it's going to be a thrill...I really believe the club can make a good showing..perhaps go further than Sydney or Adelaide...as the late big Kev would say "I'm excited"...

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
One needs to question how Sydney qualified for the Pan Pacific Championships to be played over coming days...I did hear that it was due to there early departure in the finals..or was it already decided beforehand....
It just seems as though this team is getting a few extra offers or incentives of late.......mmmmmmm..
Either way I will be watching the game tonight against the american team...the Sydney team are representing the a-league at the end of the day....
I think it's going to be a different story..to when they played LA Galaxy..for starters it ain't a friendly...
there's something at stake...the american team are the current champions back in the US...So it's going to be a tough ask...

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Great crowds (thank you..) and a couple of individual brilliances..saw off a couple of teams this weekend...magnificent stuff..it's hard to say who will be the victors at this stage but hey I'm enjoying the ride...It's interesting nothing was mentioned in the sydney papers of the actual crowd figure for the mariners game..but hey..other than that the coverage for the football has been terrific...
