3 - 0 !!!
what a win!!! 1 leg into the Asian Champions League Final
now they have to go all the way to Uzbekistan for the 2nd leg!
will be a tough ask but they will be flying high after that result! a lot of pressure on Uzbek team now, have to kick 4 goals to go through, 3 to go to extra time I think and hope Adelaide don't score at all!
Hopefully Vidmar keeps them going and doesn't go all out in defense |

What a magnificent performance by Adelaide..
I am still shaking my head..in disbelief.
I don't think I have seen a better performance by an australian football club..when the stakes have been so high.
Good football throughout..solid under pressure.
Shiite I still can't believe it..
Kinger your right..
When you compare the money that adelaide spend and Uzbek team..it makes this performance even more remarkable..
They really did play some good football..
I better stop here else I'll be banging on about it all night..
Great crowd to by the way...hallelujah.
Magnificent stuff.
Worth mentioning is the lack of media coverage there was for this game..
Congrats Adelaide United.. |

| Archie is a good player agreed and only diplays flashes of his abilty when he feels like it. He is lazy and unreliable and gets injured to easy and doesnt have the hear. His recent perfomance as one of the overage players at the olympics highlighted this. I knew as soon as he was selected it was bad choice. He is a good player in the A league but he doesnt have the heart to make it properly overseas, that is why i believe he has chosen to ply his trade in the A-League after a stint overseas in the past. He is a likeable character and has the abilty but falls short on a regular basis in my opinion |

| Cheap shot from luke,98 times out of a 100 Archie would have hit that al. Thompson is one of the best in A League. I actually think it's a pity he doesn't have the game to take overseas because he's a sight better than some that are doing it now. But if I was to take any Aussie it would be J Griffiths. |

orright - I will until we win it again this year! :P
my response was to luke who bagged Archie, I just pointed out that he would have taken the chance, do you disagree?
Thommo plays in the A-League so that is where he has to impress not anywhere else.
I don't know the guys name but he takes the Free Kicks for CCM........... now that bloke is a talent!
Go the Victory!!! |

Great crowd once agqain at the dome.
Not good enough I'm afraid..the victory.
Not enough chances/opportunities created up front..which is a concern..so is the three in a row send offs.
But I don't want to take anything away from The Roar who were impressive throughout the game...and could have come away with more goals on the sheet..
I thought Rody Vargas once again stood up in defense and played the man of the match for victory..
I don't think it's panic stations yet...for the victory..but the beads of sweat are starting to run off the forehead!!
What I love about both of these sides is the recruiting they have done..Hey guys, i know it's only early days yet but i reckon The Roar are back in town.. |

I do like Jade North..again I reckon Dodd is on the rise..
To be honest...with regard to the AFC club championships..it's the other semi-final between Gamba Osaka and Urawa Reds..one of these teams is going to be a mountain to climb..my tip is Urawa Reds..go bloody Adelaide.... |

Crab
Happy to see Adelaide do well last week. Hoping Roar will do it tomorrow against the Victory, it is about time they got a wriggle on.
Quite a fan of a number A leaguers - Thompson, Griffiths, Dodd, etc; but cannot really pick a single outstanding striker at this point. As hard as it is to admit, the Sydney gang have a number of players looking much better than past times, in particular Santalab - boy can he crack them from outside the box!
Early days yet, but it is time Victory had a trip up and it better be this weekend.
PS As a Roar fan, I agree some accommodation should be made to the Adelaide request for a game shift. |

Dodd is not an out and out striker alan, something you fail to mention. He gets enough goals for a right winger. Thompson is a very good A League striker but he's done nothing else. Are you going to live on the 2006/07 GF?
Adelaide may not have the GF trophy in the cabinet yet but they have been reasonably consistent and were challengers for a finals spot last year as were Melbourne.
Not jealous that Adelaide are semi final bound whilst Melbourne couldn't get past the group stage al? |

Yes I think it might luke,
are you still upset that he put 5 past your team in the GF??
Thommo wouldn't have taken an air swing like Dodd against Kashima.... he would have buried it! |

Yes I think it does luke,
If Adelaide had Archie in front of Goal last night instead of dudd they would have been in front at half time.
Thompson is a v good striker imo |

Luke..I don't know if I'd agree with that..
Am I a victory supporter..um..yes I am..
But I'd like to think that doesn't blind me..or narrow my way of thinking..
He hasn't played that well for the national squad..a point to be made..
But I believe..putting aside his national teams performances...Thompson is the best player in the A-league..by some distance..
Why doesn't his at times unstoppable performances for victory translate to the national team....I have no idea. |

You know overall I don't think it was an impressive game..
between Central Coast and the Victory last weekend..
As soon as Mitchell Langarek came on to replace Micheal in goals..and he made his first touch..I thought shiite he is alright..this kid..may get some more game time with Micheal being suspended for a couple of games...
They didn't give up the Victory even though they were down a man..a trait that I think Ernie Merrick instilled in the side since season one...Thompson once again impresses with his two goal feat..shiite..bloody brilliant..
I also want to acknowledge the game with Adelaide and Sydney..as I think Sydney played some bloody good football throughout that game...and those goals were first class..
I thought Kossie was right in his response...
Adelaide were beaten squarely by a better side on the day..
A point that was often overlooked.. |

fella, i will pass on the..who is better..i hope understand..
go adelaide man..go..go..and go..
to put that game into perspective the other night...the team they drew with were the j-league champions...soccer is improving in this country.. |
