| I know the a-league is going to expand...but I wonder if Sth Melbourne and Melbourne Knights have done there dash when it comes to joining the a-league...with recent reported events raising serious doubt over there inclusion...I'd hate to see all the hard work the a-league administration have done go out the window...The game is for everyone... |

I watched Sydney play in the asian club championship the other day. Look, the game was not of a very good standard...Wayward passing and just sheer laziness at times cost them (sydney) the game..I'd probably add to that a lack of match fitness..
Brosque, Carney all missed chances throughout the game, with Carney being subbed in the latter half of the game!!!
FFA if they are going to treat this competition serious and let me say they should. They need to look at ways to make sure that competing local teams put up there best!!
There is to long a break in between seasons.....
Orrightfella...just have to wait and see I reckon with Kemp.... |

| Kemp is a right sided midfielder who played on the left for Adelaide. He was pushed back to defence due to Adelaides lack of quality left backs. Aaron Goulding is a natural left back and plyed there in junior sides for Australia but his lack of pace and class made it necessary to find a better player to place at left back. Kemp has done well at left back but is not a natural and it will be interesting to see how Melbourne use him. He was badly exposed by a smart David Carney in the United V FC game towards the end of the season. He is a solid player and adaptable no doubt but I think he'll see more time on the subs bench at Melbourne. |

Which website? the official MVFC 1 or the supporters forum 1? ;-)
From what i can see, MV is looking pretty solid defencively on paper! Actually dare i say we now have the strongest defense in the league! :-)
And i'm sure many other MV supporters would agree.
YAY!! bring on season 3!! our defense will be hard to break i think. Now bring on that attacking player we SO need!! This will most likely be the big signing we are waiting for :-) |

Hey..I've just been to the victory website..terrific stuff that!! The signing of Kemp to the victory squad is great news..They get Sarkies and we get Kemp..
Kemp, from what I understand is predominantly a defensive player who tends to push forward into attack...I'm licking my lips at the prospect already...Carn the victory..thanks Scapelja.. |

Crab i here mate, i do.
I smell FEAR in them to be honest. And really i find it quite stupid that they would constantly put our football code down when clearly the 2 codes dont even play in the same season!!
Yeah i read that thing in the Age as well. To be honest i was a bit sh1tty in the begining mainly because the AGE is 1 one of MVFC's sponsers, but then i realised its just taking the p1ss out of the 2 codes and found it to be funny. And next week its going to be reversed anyway. 10 reasons why soccer is better than afl. Shall be an interesting read i think :-)

Thats the MV supporters website forum, if you ever want to have a read of some news first hand and just have a bit of a general chat with other MV supporters, and to just get a feel of what us supporters are really like as well, jump online and have a look ;-) |

Scapelja...your a star..thank you.
Look, I've got something on my chest and well...its starting to itch..
I've voiced my dismay, frustration previously on this issue..but my frustration is growing to anger very quickly!!
I cannot believe the absolute domination/monopoly that the AFL has on all sections of the media....and somehow they are getting away with it!! Look, let me make it quite clear here I've got nothing against the game i.e AFL..My arrow is pointed at the administrators of the game and there friends in the various sections of the media, who continue to play there mind bending games..It fits something like, I don't like George Bush but I've got nothing against the american people..if you get my drift!!
Away with generalisations I reckon..
Every where you look or listen its got to do with AFL..What chance have any other sports/pastimes got with such widespread market domination..Its quite frightening really..When we have a growing population and I hate to use that word but for the point, a multicultural society..We all have different interests, values...and its blo#dy awesome..I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping planes...AFL is uniquely ours and we should keep it near and dear but surely this "in your face all the time" will have a more negative effect in the long run.. The Age recently did a ten point noting on why AFL was better than soccer..Honestly, this is the kind of Shiite that friggin annoys me and its like they are trying to stoke the fires between the two codes...I could go through the ten points in favour of soccer but...u turn the other cheek...right..(; |

Look, I ain't trying to break news here...I read in the papers that victory are looking to stay at the telstra dome rather than go with the new development over at olympic park...Positives and negatives to that one...What's best for the club I say...........
I quite like the atmosphere the testra dome has..I think players found it (surface) initially a little hard to get use to i.e. slippery..I think the blue and white army of supporters create a lot of the atmosphere at games and its just great!! I still can't get over the numbers that were coming to the games last season...Never in my lifetime did I believe I'd see the day...Bless you all..
Bring on version three.. |

THIS IS FROM THE A-LEAGUE WEBSITE...
Friday, 30 March, 2007 - 8:31PM
Kristian SarkiesOlyroos midfielder and premiership/championship player with the Melbourne Victory, Kristian Sarkies has signed a one-year contract with Hyundai A-League side Adelaide United FC.
The 20-year-old is one of the rising stars of the competition, and after playing 18 games for seven starts with the Victory in the 2006/07, has made the move to United in search of more opportunities.
A livewire up forward, Sarkies is a dangerous attacking option from set and will play along side other young guns such as Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite next season.
Adelaide United CEO Michael Petrillo said the signing is a boon for his club.
“We are very happy that Kristian has agreed to terms," Petrillo said.
"We look forward to seeing Kristian developing his potential at our club and we’re sure that he will add an exciting and skilful dimension to our team and is certain to be a crowd pleaser,” Petrillo said.
“He is another piece of our objective to revitalise our playing group with young and exciting players.”
The club has also secured the services of Djite for the next two years. |

Victory swoops for Keenan - SBS

>>Keenan keen on Victory 29 March 2007
Melbourne Victory has confirmed the signing of former Chelsea left wing-back Joseph Keenan on a two-year deal from Dutch side Willem II.
The 24-year-old Englishman made three appearances as a substitute for Chelsea's first team, before loans spells at Brentford and Willem II followed. Keenan then signed a permanent deal with the Eredivisie outfit, but has been allowed to move from the Netherlands to Australia.
"Joseph fits the profile that we've been looking for when recruiting players for the club," Victory coach Ernie Merrick said. "He's in his early 20s; he's technically highly skilled, fast and has a great work ethic."
"His pedigree speaks for itself and his attitude towards moving to Australia and competing in the Hyundai A-League is a very positive one. He considers this as a good career choice and we're very fortunate to have a player of Joseph's calibre joining what is forming as a very strong squad."
Melbourne has also confirmed that Brazilian ace Fred has completed a move to American Major League Soccer club D.C. United, despite Victory's best efforts to tie the 27-year-old to a three-year deal.

This is a bit of a supprise but i wanted to share this with u victory supporters :-)
Its taken from an article and is also posted on the MVFC forum!
Melbourne Victory are are in the process of signing former England Under 21 Joe Keenan.
Keenan currently plies his trade for Dutch Eredivisie side Williem II.
He started his career at English giants Chelsea but failed to make it into the senior team after breaking his leg in a reserves match agaisnt A@senal in 2002.
Before a permanent transfer to Willem II Keenan had spells at Westerlo and Brentford.
Currently on a contract that ties him to Willem II until 2008, Keenan is pushing the club to release him early to join Melbourne Victory.
A statement from Willem II said; "Keenan asked the club for a move the Australian club because he wants to play games on a weekly basis. He has always had an exemplary attitude and worked hard for the team."
It is believed that Melbourne Victory will put Keenan through a medical test before any decision is made.
Hmmmm...i think we might see a new import in the team, providing he passes his medical at mvfc. Oh he will be trialing out with mvfc on April 1st. |

Hey guys just a little update on Sarkies...The rumours are flowing and basically thats just what it is, regarding his move to Adelaide United!
He was speaking on SEN the other day, and the question was asked whether he will be playing for the victory and his response was basically...he would like to stay at melbourne, but its up to Melbourne Victory.
So far now, he is still at MV and hopefully will stay there if ernie can also garantee him constant game time in the starting 11. I hope he does as he would be a good replacement for FRED who has left us but still is contracted till june in the A-League.
Will keep ya's up to date when i can ;-)
I have good sources ;-)
"It is indisputable that Victory is the jewel in the A-League crown, the poster boy that shows potential investors, sponsors and supporters what can be achieved in the domestic game"
Just thought i'd add that little quote in to u non Victory suporters :-p |
