CRABMAN - It is still going to be a bit of a wait 'til the new stadium comes online (2010) I think that playing at the 'Dome has been a great move for the club and can't wait til next season!!

Victory have agreed to terms to use the newly developed olympic park stadium as there home base...good/smart move..
Even though I enjoyed the games at telstra dome..good atmosphere..it just didn't feel like home..if you know what I mean...with the increase of capacity for the new ground at olympic park this place will be tops....its all good..for everyone..

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
What about Sydney's performance...great stuff..
Solid, brave and inspiring stuff!!
One needs to put the two teams into perspective to really get the sense of there achievement..
Urewa Reds are a huge club in asia..they have often been termed as the Manchester United of asia...they have money and the support to justify this notion..If a game of soccer was decided on more than kicking the ball in the back of the net Sydney won last night..they dominated possession and just couldn't get the ball to fall there way in front of the goal...they should have plenty of positives coming out of that game...
Well, AC Milan have taken out the champions League this year with a 2-1 result against Liverpool...but it wasn't a clear cut result with Liverpool squandering a number of chances in the game to score...I think they should have bought on Couch earlier as when he came on he made a difference..Great to see Kewell play..but has he done enough for the Reds to keep him..My thought is they will sell him..

Well, it doesn't get any bigger for Sydney, I reckon...Tonight they take on Urewa Reds in front of 60,000 screaming Reds fans...game kicks off at 8.30pm..I believe..Go Sydney..I see the national team has been announced for the Uraguay game...great to see Danny Allsopp getting called up..to continue there..it is also great to see Colisimo, Carle, Thompson and Carney selected..a strong squad..should do great guns.....
Will Kewell get a start in tonights game between liverpool and AC Milan...a big call...I reckon he will for some reason..its sure to be a great game...my pick is AC Milan..(;
Gaz...cheers for that...

heard phoenix had signed royce brownlie and karl dodd - not exactly players who are going to set the a league on fire. if phoenix keep signing players of this calibre - can't see them doing well.

Caarrn the Victory..
Scapelja, I did see the invitation for extras on the victory website and it seemed like a good idea but...had to work...I hope you guys all had a good time..
I tell you what, I have noticed the phoenix are making some new signings of late...it would be good to see them have a real go this year...I reckon with Rickie Herbert in charge they will be a different side this year...
Sydney have a real chance to go further in the asian club championships when they play Urewa Reds on Wednesday night....a real chance...it would be great for football in this country if they do..I believe these guys are a different side under the guidance of Branco Culina...and good/smart move to sign the man up for the permanent coaching role...they I would feel are looking the goods for the coming season..
I feel with the coming asian cup Graham Arnold and John Kosmina are going to prove once and for all that they are the right combination to take us through to the next world cup!! Can't wait for this to start..nor the next a-league season...I guess in the meantime its watching sydney do well and AC Milan to win the Champions league..Carn the Victory

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
crab8 you have been on here a long time as have others - if you don't know if you will offend them or not by now then you are in trouble.

moore good for the roar...yes, better signing than muscat can't say as he hasn't played for the roar yet and won an a league championship. plus moore has had a lot of injury concerns with newcastle. may sign for sunderland or other european club yet. if not this season there is no doubt that moore will eventually sign for the roar. though it is not the defence where the roar need improvement.

should be a great season. like to see phoenix do well, though not in the first game ;) but my focus turns to the fa cup tonight and the mighty red devils....hopefully they can win the double

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Hey did anyone who jumps on here and lives in melb go and be part of the new Hyundai A-League commercial shoot which was filmed on tue night and today?

Just wondering as i was there :-)

Was fun but got pretty boring at times and cold. Though it should be a good commercial me thinks ;-)

Oh and i was made to wear a QLD Roar shirt and scarf! lol! They got some of us to put other teams shirts on and individually filmed us today standing in one spot jumping around and cheering on those teams who's shirts we were wearing! I have to admit it was pretty funny.

Those individual shots were only filmed to slot us in where there maybe gaps in some crowd scenes, so sorry you guy's wont see me or some others on our own jumping and cheering and shouting out silly things. Nothing bad was said, half the time we were just laughing!
Though there was 1 guy who full on reminded me of leyton hewitt when he screams out "COME OOOOOOON" LOL!

There was also stunt men there today flying above us during some scene we shot. In that scene we are all cheering and jumping around cause mvfc scores. Will look good i think when the whole thing is put together.

Oh and adelaide also win a game i think in the commercial. All the A-league clubs will be represented in this commercial too.

Commercial will apear on Free to Air, Foxtel, on Qantas flights(so we were told & also said on the contract) and in cinemas too.

Will start showing in July from what some of us were told.

Can Roar snag Moore?

Heres one thats hoping. A much bigger signing than muscat, and a gentleman at that.

Not sure the 1/2 mill or so is available for it at the moment.

Still one can hope

Go Sydney - only as reps of A league

Cheers

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Look, I have in the past been outspoken in regard to the lack of coverage of the a-league and in particular melbourne victory in the various sections of the media (not all)...I have noticed and appreciated the articles recently in both the Age and the Herald Sun, articles on the victory...I think worth mentioning and saying thankyou...thats it!!
Bigmp..My other comments were a public display of me licking my wounds...not a pretty sight I know!! But the main thing is that Scapelja didn't take what I said personally..phew!!
Just on the point who supports the a-league...heaps of friggin business's/people do...I guess it doesn't get any bigger than Foxtel..who without there sizeable investment in the game...it's scary to think where it would be!!

I know its easy to get on here and have a go... these are just mere words right!! But I do want to sing the praises of the Herald Sun and the Age for keeping us all in the loop with whats going on with the local football and in particular with whats happening with the victory...
Scapelja..I am sorry..foot in mouth/to many red lollies...or early signs that I'm losing my marbles....I'll tick all three..Carn the Victory..

Sydney take on Urewa Reds in a couple of weeks and if they win they will move onto the knock out stage of the Asian Cup...this would be huge..for football in this country...
Sadly though, there hasn't been a great deal of coverage in the media of there progress and it will be interesting to see the reaction once game time approaches..Let's be honest, were out of season for football and it is really about AFL and Rugbue at the moment and thats fair, to a point...Here's hoping the Blue Boys can do us all proud and win the game..

No probs ruddy :-)

Hope you enjoy your stay in Adelaide. Its not a bad little city.

Tassie would be a good trip. I'm still debating whether i will go. There are a few supporters who will be making the trip up, and some who have booked flights already as well.

Enjoy the forum :-)

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Hey there ruddy,
First of all its great to see more and more ppl gearing up for the away trips :-)
Not sure if you have heard of the MVFC supporters forum, but if you like you can check it out as that is where you will pretty much get all your info from regarding what us the nutty supporters are up to, what new things we are finding out regarding the club and the away trips being planned etc, etc... Here's the website for you to check it out:

www.melbournevictory.net

Basically most supporters that go to the away trips go up by bus (not sure if you & your wife are up for that, as most of the supporters that go by bus are the fanatics so to speak) reason why they go by bus is cause its cheaper and they go home pretty much the same day.

Some will be flying up (jetstar & qantas have some cheap deals) but not sure where they will be staying as it hasnt been confirmed yet. Not sure where they have stayed previously as i always stayed at my cousins when i've gone up.

Regarding the website i gave you, you will have to sign up on the form to be able to get into the supporters thread as thats where you will get your info from. That and the Tony Ising thread are the one's that dont appear on the page when you go into it as you do have to be signed up on it to be able to read those to threads, otherwise everything else you can read.

Hopefully i was of some help, but as i said, jump on the forum cause thats where you can get more info & probably more closer to the date is when things will be more thouroughly discussed.

If a person is going to get stretchered off, they should at least have them off for 5min, none of this bullsh1t get stretchered off and then 6sec later they're back on the feild running for the ball all fine & dandy! F@ck that sh1t!

Anyway, as for Bling FC, even though i hate to admit, i hope they do well in the ACL and make the quater finals. They are representing the A-League after all :-)
