It is interesting to note though that things seem to be a little tighter this year between teams...are teams taking a more defensive, counter attacking approach this year...mmmmm..I guess if it continues we will hear more about it...i.e. the low scores...For me watching the game it's all about the journey and not always whether a team net four or five goals in the end..I know the point of the game is to score goals but there coulde be so many things happening on the park and sometimes all at once...tactics, strategies by opposing coaches...individual brilliances by players...it's all good...
Another good crowd in NZ for the game between Phoenix and the Jets...the game finished with the Jets taking the points in a 1 nil result.... |

| Another draw last night. That's 7 games out of 10 this new A-League season. Only CCM have been able to win. I know they said it was gonna be a lot closer this year but this is ridiculous! |

Adelaide 1 Victory 1..
Good hard fought game..
Adelaide coming close in the dying stages of stealing the points..
Worth mentioning also the good crowd numbers, of just over 12,000..considering that there was a AFL final also being played on the same night!!
The victory take on league leader Central Coast next week at home..
Which is going to be a good gauge of where the victory are at.. |

| Adelaide v Melbourne should be cracker tonight. Unfortunately closest I'll get is a radio. Agostino starts tonight with Burns and Love and Allsopp up front for Melbourne. Problem for Melbourne is in defence where they have major injuries. As an Adelaide supporter this is no revenge match but it would still be good to put a few past Melbourne to start to erase the pain and humiliation of last season. Most important is to win all games at home so this being the first is ultra important. Just a win will do but a bonus of seeing 3 or 4 go past the Melbourne keeper (not Theoklitos tonight?)will put a bigger smile on my face. |

Central Coast got the points but the Roar outplayed them - they just couldn't finish (just like Roar of season 1).
While I'm sure it's a dream come true for some of these young players going overseas, I sometimes gotta wonder. Carney's not seeing much game time and I don't think Leijer's been on the pitch yet. Also, Sheff Utd and Fulham's style of play are not in line with the future direction of Australian football. In some cases they might be better off staying a year or two longer in the A-League. |

Sigh..relief
Victory have signed Ernie for another couple of seasons..good stuff..
Just got the score from Central Coast and the Roar game..1 nil to Central Caost..
Central Coast are looking the goods early and its a good sign..Sydney are down a few players presently due to injury and socceroos call up..got to agree with Branco's call that international games need to be better considered with regard to the local league..
It's great to see a few of the local players heading over seas i.e. Dave Carney..worth mentioning is Dave's commitment to the national team..great stuff... |

Victory Fans are here!!
And to all others that turned up for the game at the Dome the other night..I luv ya's all..
What a great season we are all going to have..all supporters..
Central Coast have got off to a great start and again I've got to say..Adelaide are looking the goods..
As for my beloved Victory...
It's going to be something this weekend against the mighty reds..a lot of players out for the blue boys..going to test the depth of the side...but I wouldn't bet against the victory even if my life depended on it..My passion for the team grows by the day and I just can't wait for each game!! Here's hoping Danny Allsopp gets picked for the socceroos game against Argentina...there's a whisper that due to a number of selected players unable to make the game..he may get called up!!
We are being spoilt folks..the football has been good..Carn the Victory.. |

Again the roar played well, only to be nipped in the bud.
Its going to happen this year, big four finish and maybe a premiership. |

LOL gazka, I think you might be right!!
If you don't get the score on the board it doesn't matter how much the Roar dominate a game !
Go the Victory!! |

Bit overboard there OR. Roar certainly had the better in the first half and more chances but Adelaide had more than 2 clear cut chances. No doubt easy misses from Milicic and Marcinho and a a disallowed goal kept Adelaide in it but the game is about taking your chances. Would have been a tragedy had Agostino headed in a cassio cross which wasn't too hard and there were a couple of others but memory is not that good.
I'll wait for half a season to go before calling anyone the team to beat though. |

You think Adelaide looked the goods saturday Crab - u gotta be joking mate.
They got two opportunities and took them both, and they were good strikes by good young players. But overall they were played off the park, with the Roar having about 10 chances of which only two were taken.
I think it is a bit early to suggest Adelaide are the team to beat this season - IMO |

A mixed bag of results to kick off round 1..
Good crowds getting through the gates, especially in NZ..
Look, I know it's only round 1 but once again Adelaide are looking the goods..a few injury concerns for the victory..
How will the injury to Ljubo effect the victory..only time will tell..
I think by the look of things a couple of teams need a couple of games under there belts to get up and running..victory being one of them i.e.new players coming into the squads...
The game against Perth should be interesting this weekend..for a number of reasons..hopefully a few will turn upto watch.. |

| Dont worry lingerik, Perth wont be the last team to feel the lethal left foot thunderbolts from Cassio this year. Adealide have found a fair dinkum matchwinner. Anyone know where the Lazaridis case is at? Agostino looks set to line up for Adelaide in the first round with Burns, Djite and Sarkies all going to the Olyroos. |
