Good to hear Crab. Thompson is one exciting player when he's hot.
The Roar were ok last night without Tiatto. But with him next week, I think a bagfull of goals could be in the offing.
The young guns looked sharp most of the night, and to think these boys will only get better over the next 10 years, boy have we some future!
Should be a good one again tonight IMO.
Cheers |

Crab
Thompson and Muscat are the victory. I for one am hoping that victory can forgive the altercations from last weekend, and encourage Thompson to reach new dizzy heights here in the A League.
Also agree - the three Roar young guns are a very exciting prospect for the A League, and who knows 2010!
When Vidocic came on last year you could feel the crowd lift in anticipation (now a regular with Bundersleague), and the same lift came with the starting of Zullo and Kruse. Lets hope we can keep them at least for 2 years. |

Orrightfella, yeah it's interesting..
The more I read about things going on...it does seem as though things with Ljubo have been simmering for sometime..
I remember some time ago that there was a reported run in with him and Muscat..
From my point of view...there was an error on Archie's part..for not turning up at a team leaders meeting the morning after the game against Adelaide...I applaud the club for taking some action over this..should it have gone public...mmmmmmm...it was going to get out..
Can I say..I love Archie..I really do....this guy has helped..almost single handedly bring in the crowds at Melbourne...he is exciting to watch...it's just that every now and then I feel there's shiite going on with him!!
I said it in the past that I admired the way the club opened the doors for him when he came back from the Netherlands..even though I felt things got a bit messy there....
I know the guy has a family to think of...if he is frustrated...then head overseas man and prove your worth...becuase I feel after last years grand final and the little that that performance did to the national selectors......mmmmm...do es he want to play in the next world cup.. |

| Is Ljubo Milicevic a goner at Melbourne? Reports suggest he is on the way out and looking at Europe again. Have the Victory had enough of him, and besides the little breakfast indiscretion can any one say what else Ljubo has been doing to incur the wrath of his club? |

Something's going on down at victory land...just read the papers...(not breaking news!!!)Archie and Ljubo are in a little hot water over missing a team breaky ,after the Adelaide game, which was compulsary...could this be the beginning of things unravelling down at victory land...keep ya posted..
Adelaide and The Roar are looking the goods I tell ya...
I like the way both teams play the game...
Haven't seen much of Kristin Sarkies for Adelaide..I know he has been on call for the young socceroos but...bloody good young player there.. |

| What a great win and the score could have been bigger but for a couple of easy misses by Lucal Pantelis and Dez Giraldi. At least Dez was able to give melbourne a bit of a hurry up and caused Ljubo to put it in his own net. Adelaide will forever have that grand final stain on their record books but it was enjoyable to see them put 4 past Victory. It will be hard come selection time when Ago, Burnsy and Bruce come back. On a side note, the Adelaide paper says United is considering putting in a call to John Aloisi who is uncontracted and seeing if he will take a short term contract to fill in for Bruce Djite who is out for 6 weeks. |

Melbourne got beat...4-1..by the red might of Adelaide..
I don't know what's going on down there at victory land..
What I do know is how important Kevin Muscat is to Melbourne Victory..bloody important..
I am keen to watch the game today between the Roar and Central Coast..Actually I like the look of the Roar..could be the light through the mist for me, this team...Frank Farina's selection of the two young boys last week and the game's they both played....oh please..we all want more..this years a-league...something's happened..not enough attack and flair..to much physical and defense...please Roar give me more....top game expected...but I haven't given up on me ol mates the victory..they'll turn the corner..you wait and see...one more for the road...CARN THE VICTOOOOOORRRYY... |

| Well it's Adelaide v Melbourne again and this time it looks like Melb will be without their kicker.... er skipper. lol Seriously speaking, Adelaide without Ago Burns, Djite and Sarkies will have their depth tested but Melbourne without Brebner and Muscat will have to find midfield options. Dez Giraldi earns his first start for Adelaide. Olyroo squad member and a former player on Empoli's list he played 4 games with the CCM Mariners before coming to Adelaide. Injury has held him up so we look forward to seeing what Dez has to offer. With Ljubo Milicevic back for Melbourne Dezzy might have a tough contract to score. |

It was Craig Moore that recently said that Australian soccer players, specifically in the a-league, are not quick enough thinkers on and off the ball..and personally I've not heard more truth than that...it's bloody true..
In saying that it was bloody good to see the victory get there first win of the season...again it was hard fought..to the end..not really attractive football but all the same satisfying...the partnership between Leandro and Archie, I feel, can only get better as the season progresses...and in fairness to Danny Allsopp he did play injured..I do reckon that all three can be on the pitch at the same time..
The defense was fantastic..can't be fualted..
It's in the work room that I feel victory need to improve...the midfield..something is not happening...mmmmm..I don't know...
It was good to see Sydney get a win also on the weekend..
The Central Coast Mariner's have finally succombed to there first defeat to Adelaide..
And the surprise was to see Wellington get over the line against Perth...I reckon they are in for a good chance to make the play offs this year and...shiite..could cause a few headaches...but we are a long way out till then.... |

Yes crabman the Victory need to tighten up at the back - Roddy isn;t as good as he was last year yet but I still think he's a great player, we just need that final pass to be a little better and the goals will come.
I'm not that bothered by CCM leading yet , there is a long way til the finals! |

Please forgive...
The Roar play the Victory tommorrow night in Melbourne..
It's going to be an interesting game to watch..both coaches have indicated that they are going to make some changes to the respective teams....
The Victory need to get a win behind them!!!
I honestly think that we haven't seen the best of Leandro Love..the guy has quality written all over him....
Defensively the Victory need to patch holes...as there have been to many 'givens' in recent weeks..
There are a couple of doubts over a couple of players for the Victoryi.e. Muscat..for this game...
I really think they need to come away with a good result this week....preferably with a win..
A draw could have a number of effects on the side...
Central Coast are quietly moving away from the pack at the top of the table...Carn the Victory... |

Yep - Roar look the goods against Victory.
Farina backing his strikers, and they will fire sooner rather than later - this friday IMO. |

Crab
2-1 to the Roar. Just a hunch, but Roar looking good in open play, and it will happen for them sooner rather than later.
Agree should be a good game - aaaannnd an open one I believe. |

Victory 2. Newcastle 2.
I liked the second half for victory as opposed to the first. At times they just seemed to be there own worst enemies. Take nothing away from Newcastle who played a consistant game throughout..It was a good game to watch..actually. Where as in recent weeks..I have to be honest..I haven't enjoyed watching the way the team has played..The signs are looking good if last nights performance in the second half is any indication..Leandro Love played a stirling game for the victory..would probably warrant an earlier start in future..carn the victory.. |

FC's poor recruitment shown up again.
Wellington have beaten them to Ahmad Elrich (ex Fulham).
Also the proven goalscorer Mori is back for a handful of games for CCM. |

| If you look back on last season Fred really only switched it on in the latter half of the season...he did play an awesome grand final though...For me Roddy Vargas was the stand out player during the season..consistant throughout.... |

I agree that on form the Roar should have this one. They've been creating plenty of chances lately, and I imagine they will create more than FC. It's just a matter of taking those chances (never really roars strength).
As for Melb - No Fred, No Victory?? |

Crab - the Victory look stale. Im not sure what it is, but maybe they were convinced it would be a walk in the park this year, and once the tide has turned, it may take some time to gain the winning way again. I hope not, for your sakes.
In relation to the Roar - there is definitely a good team developing there. Im pretty confident we will do the FC this weekend.
Any one agree? |

Victory 0 - Mariners 0..
For me the game was pretty sloppy...and at times frustrating to watch..a lot of the ball was turned over to the opposition...and I don't know whether it's the telstra dome surface or...players seemed to either overun the ball or slip..when in possession of the ball..
In saying this there were some good and encouraging moments for both sides..now to look to next week..carn the victory.. |

Trouble in the Harbour City indeed Crab.
Their recruiting since season 1 has been poor.
COACHES - had that expensive moron Terry Butcher last year. Gone cheap now with Culina (tho at least he is capable of playing attractive football).
PLAYERS - banked it all on Juninho being fit. Haven't replaced Sasho or Carney with proven players.
I wouldn't write them off yet either, but not looking good on or off the pitch right now for the Bling, with crowd only 11k for last nights game. Desperately need Juninho back! |

Sydney 1 Wellington 2..
Trouble in the Harbour City..I reckon.
Phoenix have there first runs on the board against a team that initially, I believed, would go some distance this year...good on the Phoenix..but you know what I wouldn't write off sydney just yet..
So can the victory..bring a halt to the mariners surge..its going to be a cracker..see you there.. |

It cannot be overlooked or downplayed..the importance of the large crowds turning up for the victory games...I say large crowds and that is specifically for football/soccer in this country...Let's be honest the AFL get twice this or more on blockbuster games...but we are not here to compare or to compete with those guys!!
I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that an australian football side would have got 20,000 memebers or sold out the dome in a matter of hours..as did the victory in there league final triumph...
Please understand that I am not boasting here..but it is important for the game in this country to see a local team do so well...when so much has been newly invested in the local game...the hopes and dreams can continue..I hope the game continues to develop and grow in popularity and it won't be just Melbourne getting 30,000 plus people to games..
By the way I will be at entrance 55 (just kidding)..to kiss and hug you all before the game this week against Central Coast at the dome....Carn the Victory... |
