I don't know if anyone else saw the small story on Channel 9's interest in getting an a-league game or two televised..It was never going to happen due to the present agreement with Foxtel..but for me it was just encouraging to see the interest was there..
Some might bag Foxtel...but shiite...people have short memories!! If it wasn't for Foxtel..far out man...I don't want to think about it!!! THANK YOU Foxtel....
It's bloody magnificent to see that some great clubs in the world game are coming to our shores....thank you..

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Yeah mate...just a little frustrating I guess...
They nearly came out of the game with a point..
The first goal was an error in the back..slack/lazy defense..I thought it was amusing once the goal was scored and one of the players closest to the goal scorer was pointing to another player further away, as though to lay blame...tehe..
Heads up though...victory are still in it..

Personally, I was happy with the way Victory played..
The second goal for the opposition was magnificent..
They still have a chance of qualifying, so all is not lost!!
Congratulations to Adelaide...even though they didn't win they have kept there chances alive as well...

Well if both Victory and United do well tomorrow - they are in the blockhole for a place in the finals.

Should be very interesting tomorrow!

So how in the hell are Sydney affording the three new signings under the salary cap restrictions!!! The rest must be on pittance..
The Asian Championships are coming up and I can't wait as I believe Victory are going to be a good show...

Great to see that Nick Ward is staying (if reports are true) with the victory..Nick made a real difference to the team when he played..Sad though to see Adrian Caceras leave for greener pastures else where...I believe Central Coast have signed him...
The Asian club championships are coming up next month and it's going to be a thrill...I really believe the club can make a good showing..perhaps go further than Sydney or Adelaide...as the late big Kev would say "I'm excited"...

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
One needs to question how Sydney qualified for the Pan Pacific Championships to be played over coming days...I did hear that it was due to there early departure in the finals..or was it already decided beforehand....
It just seems as though this team is getting a few extra offers or incentives of late.......mmmmmmm..
Either way I will be watching the game tonight against the american team...the Sydney team are representing the a-league at the end of the day....
I think it's going to be a different story..to when they played LA Galaxy..for starters it ain't a friendly...
there's something at stake...the american team are the current champions back in the US...So it's going to be a tough ask...

Great crowds (thank you..) and a couple of individual brilliances..saw off a couple of teams this weekend...magnificent stuff..it's hard to say who will be the victors at this stage but hey I'm enjoying the ride...It's interesting nothing was mentioned in the sydney papers of the actual crowd figure for the mariners game..but hey..other than that the coverage for the football has been terrific...

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
Dan$%#s - I have posted on this thread a number of times, topics related more to the whole ALeague than just victory.

Its a difficult one with Mancinio, he has had some flashes of brilliance - yet is very inconsistent in front of goal. Too many Mancinio shots end up in the second tier of Suncorp in my opinion to be a starter. I still favour starting with Reinaldo, and 2 or 3 of the youngsters up front - if fully fit. Eventually, the layoffs from Reinaldo will work for the speedsters who will invariably score.

Sydney were well outplayed by Roar 2 weeks ago, and I am confident Frank and the boys will get some sort of result for Suncorp the following week.

Bring it on Sydney

I would love to see Marcinho starting as a striker for the roar this week. I think he is the most likely to score.
I was too lazy to start a new post!

Forgive me for my previous self indulgence..
So we have sorted out who is the most consistant..and you know what I'm happy that it was Central Coast..
But let's get to the people's decider..the winner of the grand final..and I'm sticking by my previous prediction that it's going to be a sydney and roar grand final..
And the winner of this..and If I've gotta pick one of the two..it would be sydney...
Joel Griffiths..great stuff...the scoring machine...

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
I've just read that Archie Thompson is saying that the no show in the finals campaign for victory is going to prove costly in his quest to play for the national team..And he is right..Look, I personally believe that his form this year has not been upto the standards that he set last year...well..it would be hard to match his feats of last year actually..but in saying that I have watched him in recent weeks and he has missed goals that perhaps in the previous year he would have scored...
This weekends game against sydney could be an opportunity to step up to the archie of the previous year..were it seemed the ball was on a string for me...score goals..
Or if that fails he still has opportunity in the socceroos training camps...this year wasn't a good year for archie nor the victory...and perhaps if he doesn't make the squad for the game against Qatar...there is also an opportunity with the asian club championships to prove his worth...and I believe when he archie is playing at his best he is good enough to be in the starting eleven for the socceroos..

Re:"Carn the victory" Reply to this message
alan..I share your sadness/grief but mate it's all looking good for the asian championships..chin up..
Probably the other sad thing about it is that they will miss out in playing in the next asian championships..
Big game this weekend against sydney and there's a lot riding on a number of games this weekend for all of the top four..great stuff..
I'm not going to shy away from my earlier prediction that sydney and the roar will fight it out at the end...but you gotta love the crowds that are showing up to games in recent weeks..i love you all...
The truth is that all of the top four are in with a fighting chance for the minor premiership..and also to take out the grand final..I'm just happy to be here..
Central Coast..who have lead the competition all season..perhaps have not been given the resepect they deserve (me included)..so here's hoping that they find some form and go for gold...
We are in for an exciting weekend of football folks..
