| Still, it would`ve been bittersweet for Verbeek, getting beaten by his former side on his return to Korea |

Agree 100% Fella, Korea are a very good side (forget the dubious rankings system).
We need to work on our depth, just in case the World Cup comes along while 3 or 4 of our regulars are injured.
Games like this are great for a few of the second tier players and it will be beneficial in the long run. |

Nothing curious about this result, Sth Korea have won something like 14 games in a row and are a very good Asian side, and Australia went with little more than a B grade side.
Verbeek left players at 'home', like Cahill and players like Grella and North haven't seen much action lately so the game was good for them.
I wouldn't place any emphasis as to a full strength Australias chances at the world Cup on the result of this game. It was one where Verbeek hada look at some fringe players and it is possible he tried some new plays as well, but I make the last point without having seen the game.
Barring injury we will see the strongest Aussie side against the Netherlands because we will need to compete against the Europeans better than we did against Italy in the last WC. Despite the 1-0 scoreline the Italians were a bit better than those numbers and we will need to close the gap technically and tactically. |

You can be sure the Koreans would`ve put it on the front page of most newspapers, especially with Australia being ranked 14th. It`s ironic Park Jisung was freed from Premier League duty for the game but Cahill wasn`t.
I would be a good idea to have a home game for every friendly away game. Gives either team a chance to avenge their loss. |

u shouldnt under estimate the Koreens their a very good team who qualifed 1st in a stronger group than the Roos with the likes of Saudi, Iran & Nth korea
....< but maybe remember that it was a understregnth 'Roos team....a bit inexpierenced so nothing to worry about i dont think.
cant wait for the game against the dutch next month at SFS! |

I think that with World Cup Qualification achieved, Verbeek is just pi$$ing about, trying out different players and tactics....
the Socceroos won't face a fellow Asian side in their group anyway according to World Cup rules so if there ever was a 'pointless friendly' this would have been it.... |

| Why were the Socceroos able to beat the Netherlands, ranked 4 or 5 in the world at home. As well as Ireland, but couldn`t do the same for Korea? As far as I`m aware Korea is ranked number 49, and we are number 14. A 3-1 defeat. Unfortunately I couldn`t watch the game, so could someone enlighten me? |
