very interesting that none of the big four in Chelsea,
Man U, Liverpool and Ar5enal have gotten stronger over the off season.... Zhirkov and Owen are the only transfers that come to mind... |

| I agree, I think Forlan is the most underrated player in the world. Manchester United wasted a great player. There are many young fellas out there still waiting to be seen. |

| doubt valencia could pay ibra's wages. I agree on forlan in the past, but he has been very consistant in la liga and performed well at a grossly underperforming club (atletico) with huge expectations. Still, he would be after villa, drogba or torres on my list, but still before ibra for me. Maybe I haven't watched enough serie a in recent years but I just don't see 40mill worth in that lanky swede. |

| I assume you are saying you'd like Torres at United? You are dreaming if you think Liverpool and Man U will do any deal with each other - especially with a quality player like Torres! |

isc - maybe get ibram and then offload him to valencia for Villa.
I would personally go for drogba or Torres.
I ain't too sure about forlan as good as he is I think he isn't as good for the big clubs when there is high expectations on him. |

kinger, I didn't understand why juve went after hi, then when the ar5e fell out of them with being relegated I could see why inter would try to snaffle him, but why barca would even consider him is beyond me. Ok, they need to offload eto'o before he walks for nothing next year, but ibra just doesn't fit the bill, he is an expensive step backwards. The villa deal is falling through because valencia want cash plus a couple of loan players, and barca don't want to offer any good loan players that might actually make valencia a threat, so we've only ourselves to blame there. Before Ibra I would prefer, in no order:
Villa
Forlan
Drogba
Torres
and so on. They all fill that role far better than Ibra would.. god I hope they can salvage the Villa deal..
Meanwhile Roma are making a play for Adriano too, and it looks like the Fabiano to Milan deal has collapsed. |

adeWHYor to man city.. so, they've got 4 expensive strikers now, Robinho, Santa Cruz, Tevez and the why man.. who is actually going to GET the ball or stop the other team scoring???
There is a reason why money can't buy trophies, and this is perfectly evident in this case.. |

| They'd be getting him as a centre fwd surely, their setup has messi and henry on the flanks and eto'o in the middle, so can't see how/why they'd change that sort of setup. I'd even consider forlan before ibrahima, I just don't think he's the guy, and certainly not at that price.. |

hey ike.... ibrahima was good with the ball at his feet when he was with Ajax Amsterdam...
at Inter and when he plays with Sweden he has to play the Mark Viduka type central striker role which he hates...
Barca would be a disaster as he would have to compete with Thierry Henry as they are both similar type players.. |

Ibrahimovic to Barca for eto'o plus cash. Am I the only one who doesn't rate ibrahimovic? That's a win for inter I would say. Barca waiting for offer for Villa (MUCH better player) to be accepted/declined before finalising.
Adriano could go to AC Milan.
Maxwell signed to Barca from Inter.
Manucho to Valladolid from Man U. |

REAL MADRID admit they are facing defeat in their bid to sign Xabi Alonso from Liverpool.
Kop boss Rafa Benitez has slapped a £35million price tag on the head of the Sp *** h midfield ace.
Alonso, 27, fancies a switch to the Bernabeu and his relationship with the Reds boss has become increasingly strained over the last year.
But Benitez is set to dig in his heels and force his countryman and fans favourite to go public and hand in a transfer request.
Now Real's sporting director Miguel Pardeza admitted for the first time this summer they fear missing out on one of their top targets.
He said: "Xabi Alonso is a great player and we can't deny this team would greatly benefit from his work but it looks like the situation may not end up well for us.
"We will nevertheless keep fighting for him and hope negotiations become reasonable again in the future." |
