Mgibbons what planet do you come from?
I don't follow either side so I'm not coming from an unbiased position.
YOU DON'T TOUCH A MATCH OFFICIAL end of story!!
However what Vukovic did is light years away from Griffth's action.
Vukovic sarcastically high fived the Ref. Griffths punched the linesman in the groin
The fact Griffiths went on to win the Johnny Warren medal is a total disgrace and makes the whole saga even more ludicrous. It makes FFA look like I D I O T S
They blot one bloke out for 9 months and the other gets off with a yellow card. This whole thing smacks of over compensation.
"We missed one so we will nail the other"
Mind you I also hope that FFA paid for eye tests for Shields and one of his assistants, because how they missed that hand ball smacks of either vision impairment or incompetance. |

| Griffiths didn't get a ban. He received a yellow card. He copped a ban later in the year for accumulating yellow cards. What Vukovic did was many times worse...lucky he didn't get life....He is a grub. |

| All it does is severely hurt the Olyroos chances at Beijing if he is banned from international duty, and will hinder the development of a potential Socceroo #1. |

punish the man by all means.

Tomorrow night they are appealing the 15 month ban on Vukovic for 'striking' (i.e. high-fiving) the referee in the Grand Final in an attempt to have the suspension reduced.
Certainly isn't worth 15 months considering the precedent set by Joel Griffiths earlier in the season. I think a 6 match ban would be sufficient. |
