Re:Bledisloe in Japan Reply to this message
Under,

My mate is an Aussie who has just been seconded to the States. I can't say online how he got tickets, because that may give his identity away.

Another angle is anyone you know who is a senior member of various clubs, or even Wallabies First members. They often get an allocation guaranteed. Because it's in Tokyo, many probably won't go this year.

Re:Bledisloe in Japan Reply to this message
i have my wifes japanese mate working on tickets this week and he is pretty confident in getting them $150. we got super cheap flights with jetstar last week when they had a one day sale on $403 return from the gold coast!!! we are going for 9 days and staying in a backpackers so we will see tokyo, only thing is that if my wifes mate cant get the tickets we are gonna have to bite the bullet and get the two night package deal just to go to the game.

BTW, Gale, is your mate American? Is he capable of getting his hands on tickets for the extra Bledisloe Cup match which will most likely be played in the US next year?

Re:Bledisloe in Japan Reply to this message
For Japan, a package for $805 is good. Japan is NOT a cheap country. In Hong Kong last year, I managed to get seats for $150 approx, which I thought was too much. Especially when I arrive there and see all those empty seats.

For Japan, though, I don't think you will find many empty seats, despite the packages available to Kiwis and Aussies. Japanese love their rugby.

r1u2g3b4y5, if you can afford it, try to get an extra couple of nights. To see Tokyo in a day or two is not feasible. There is too much to take in.

Gale, this is a one-off test and a special occasion. If I had the time, I would pay it and go there. It promises to be a great occasion. Too bad I can't join you :(

Re:Bledisloe in Japan Reply to this message
I'm hoping to get 2 tickets thru a mate who has allocation of two. They were $262, but I think that was EACH!

Am waiting to hear back from him as he is in US and unsure whether he has already passed them on.

anyone going?
The JRU, NZRU and the ARU have made it really expensive by making nz and aus residents only able to purchase tickets as part of a package (through one of their overpriced travel agents),the one i was looking at (the cheapest)$805 aud for 2 nights in an average hotel and 1 match ticket. The packages including flights are ridiculous in price. Nice too see the rugby unions putting their fans first.
