Kippy, you should see the nice little number I knitted up for you this week. Actually the Numbers not so little.. it say
"England Rugby, the seventh best team in the World" LOL
Actually I like the England Team, I think they'll put up a good fight as they typically always do at home. If the Wallabies win it wont be by much, they do grow and extra leg with Johnny in the team. |

I like this England team line up
Backs are fast , powerful and most importantly clever - it is a backline with brains.
Half backs are good obviously and although the forwards are very much new there is a backrow of Leicester with great promise and of course Thompson and Borthwick and Deacon to steady things.
ENGLAND TO WIN BY 10 POINTS

Kip,
It is not a knitting circle = it is croche. How did you know?
I think WALs have Englands number on this game Kip. A simple case of playing time and match fitness at international level. The WALs are not a bad team and if they put it together on the day they can beat the BOKs and the ABs. I think ENG at the moment would struggle doing that. However, we shall see. Good luck anyway.
Blessings

lool, gotta admire your passion and optimism Kip...
with how many personel England are missing,i would say that Zedds prediction of 20+ win by the Wallabies is a given...BUT...this whole year the Wallabies managed somehow to shoot themselves in the foot...so all i can say is GO THE WALLABIES and i hope for a win...
up front the Wallabies should be at least even with the english pack,i epect them to actually dominate....breakdown the same...if somehow they can manage to fix their lineout, improve those terrible ball handling skills and have the patience to put together some well constructed phases in attack...is a win for the Wallabies...
is a lot of if this and if that...but i think that they will compose themselves and put a good performance on Saturday....cause if they manage somehow to loose this one,as somebody said...they will be in deep s_h_i_t . |

well well well
3 peas in a pod
Are you a knitting circle?
Certainly England look disjointed and short of match practice as a team but the Wallabies are no world beaters and neither are the ABs for that matter.
ENGLAND TO WIN
Can you hear it lads??????
Music.........
Swing low, sweet chariot
Coming for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Coming for to carry me home
I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Coming for to carry me home
A band of angels coming after me
Coming for to carry me home
Sometimes I'm up and sometimes I'm down
Coming for to carry me home
But still my soul feels heavenly bound
Coming for to carry me home

Wallabies will win simply because they are match hardened. They have been in some massive battles this year (more then any other international team).
I think they'll be excited to get away from the big two and will love the chance to have a crack at the NH teams. Expect to see a better game from the wallabies and I expect to see the comment "why couldn't they play like this in the Tri Nations" |

If the Wal don't beat this English squad on Saturday they will be in deep sh!t. It should be advantage Wallabies with the lack of experience in the England squad.
I can see the Wal winning by 20.
Why? Because they have a decent scrum, have improved at the breakdown and have had game time. They will be up against an inexperienced English side with no game time as a unit. If nothing else Gits can kick penalties accurately so him and Johny will cancel each other out. Johny may have the goods on him in general play kicking but defensively they are much the same. Gits is a better broken play runner where Johny will make better decsions in set play.
Another week of training will help the Wal backs gel better than last week and I expect them to outplay there opposites. Looking for a big Game from AAC and Digby. |

Shame about Barnes.I really liked the look of that back-line.It was about the best we could put on the park.AA Copper at 15 was a much better option.I'd put O'conner in at 12 and leave AA C at 15,there will be a lot of pressure on O'conner and he hasn't performed well against the Black at 15.
Anyway,if the forwards can match the Black we could be in with a chance.
It's been tough without any rugby lately so really looking forward to the game.Lets hope the boys can do it .
GO WALLABIES |

The Wallabies aren't that far from success IMO.
For me the only thing holding us back is the same thing that always holds us back. We continually pick personality forwards - forwards who jog around behind the backs with perfect hair and never a scratch on them. They then give a stunning full time interview and trudge off in their pristinely clean jersey. During the match, they'll show up to one in ten rucks/mauls and even then will have poor body height and try to secure the ball with their arms. Consequently we never have numbers at the breakdown nor rock solid set pieces.
If we only did what the saffas and the kiwis did, pick guys who will work themselves into the dust every single match. We have had players like this in previous eras and still have the occasional one now, viz: Matt co bain, Brendan Cannon, Owen Finnegan, John Eales, David Croft, Phil Waugh, Rocky Elsom, Michael Foley, Jim Williams, Will Caldwell etc.
Cannon, Waugh and Croft have some of the uglier heads you've ever seen when you see them up close due to the number rucks they've put their bodies on the line for. Neil Back has a head only a mother could love. I have only ever seen the self styled enforcer Horwill have claret drawn once, and that was by Harinordoquy (?spelling) off the ball.
Change the selection criteria for Australian forwards to:
1. Number of times they get up from the bottom of a ruck (1 point)
2. Number of times they have claret pouring from their head (2 points)
3. Number of times they either talk themselves up in the media or talk the opposition down (-3 points)
Then we'd finally see some long awaited mongrel in our pack. |

Does anyone know what time the game is being played ?
I know it's Sat night but haven't been able to find out the kick off time ?.
I actually quite like the make-up/balance of the side.AA Copper at 15 makes me feel a bit easier and Cross is a solid 13.
2nd row is a bit of a worry but as someone else said there is really no-one else. Also,Cadwell is def unavailable.I remember reading that a while ago.
All in all a good side.PoCQQk is a bit of a surprise but I'm fairly confident he'll do a good job and Smith can come on later if required.Hopefully at 7.
Anyway,lets get behind the boys.

| I agree with most posters that Deans is really trying to bring on Pococ/k by giving him a starting berth in this test. I wouldn't think for a minute he is now our number one openside. That said, I really like the look of the rest of the team. Polota Nau, Hynes, Ione are all guys who could and should cement their spots with a good performance in Tokyo. |

You got it ML.
Deans is trying to develop his no.2 number 7.
I think the teams not too bad. AAC I thought was the best player in Wellington, he's a class act although Cross is definately and emerging talent. There seems to be an eye on 2011 with the team for me. Deans is safe win or lose by the looks of it.
Should be a great match, looking forward to the ABs team naming.
Bring it on.
GO THE ALL BLACKS! |

froggy: >Poc@#k over Smith
The only explanation that I can credit is that, as dead-rubber game, he wants Poc@#k to get run-on experience at No 7. Looking down the road (either as a long-term replacement for Smith or to keep him anchored in OZ versus a NH offer he can't refuse).
If it's not that, I reckon Dingo has lost the plot.

Froggy...i don't think there is too much choice for the 2nd row...who would you put there....i really have no idea...Mumm maybe?i really don't know why Will Caldwell was not given any chance to be part of the squad...is he out injured?
what worries me about this game(apart from the breakdown, but there we should be more than fine since a player of Smith's caliber is kept on the bench) is the substitutions...Deans made a pretty big mess in that department so far this year...and i have a pretty bad feeling that we will see Smith replacing Palu at no 8 late in the game...just for the sake of keeping Pokok on the field. |

wtf, Poc@#k over Smith, suddenly I'm losing all respect for Robbie. Another really disappointing aspect is the 2nd row, Horwill & Chisholm were hardly sighted in Wellington, and retain their spot. Giteau named at 10 again, poor little baby was going to have a dummy spit if he didn't get it, and he seems to get whatever he wants.
Some good aspects though. Great to see Adam A/C back at 15, as you said ciu, and Ioane is a good inclusion. Dunning's a natural reserve prop, being one of the few equally comfortable on either side. Also pleased to see Cross at 13.
I know everyone seems to love Hynes, but I'm afraid I'm not much of a fan. He gets forced into touch way too often, and also runs away from his supports too often, both of which, of course, result in a turn-over. He needs to learn to think a lot more about where he's running, not just put his head down and go. This, after all, is the very top level of the game.
I'm not confident, will be a real first up test for Rocky, to see if he can lift virtually the same pack that tossed it in in Wellington.
Still, GO THE WALLABIES.

| ado_tornado - the welsh players will just be missing the All Blacks game, they'll then have 2 tests to play before the Aussie game as it falls within the international window. we'll lose against the Kiwis but will be targeting the Aussie match. |
