I'd have Williams instead of Monye (as one of the wing options) and Gethin Jenkins instead of Sheridan. Martyn Williams instead of Dusautoir. Apart from that, looks a decent team.
MarkBishop - we'll see next week but fear we will lose by 15 points. |

| Fair enough Geraint I understand what you are saying! I think their are great players on Wales and in Ireland but i dont think they have that ability YET to finish off a close game against the SH why do they always flop over in the last 10min??? All im saying is they lack the mental ability to pull through the big ones! Yes it could have gone anyway but it didnt because you didnt have the ability im talking about!!! But you are getting there. Then my final point is a lot of the people posting their world 22 teams are guys from the SH and we only get to see Wales once a year and dont see any club games. where as with SH rugby we see all the players throughout the year due to tri nations and super 14 so we dont get to see Wales all the time and the same goes for the rest of the NH teams. So we are basing our opinions on results mainly. And just as a final thought how can we see how good Welsh players really are if they not released by their clubs to play for Wales. Its also not the first time this has happened in terms of the strongest team playing for NH teams, its not just Wales!!! |

Galeforceperth, i think it will be a mixture. Given our friends over the border banning our Wales players from playing against the Kiwis, we'll lose that one. But i think the other 3 games will be very close. I'm going for Wales 1 loss and 3 wins, albeit the win against Australia being very close run thing.
Luan.cronje. I take on board what you are saying. Look, we lost 2-1, and all credit to the Boks for digging deep, and you're right what you say. All i'd say is the results could have quite easily have gone the other way, had a referees interpretation of the scrum being different in the first test, and had we not had 4 freak injuries in the second half inside 5-10 minutes which led to uncontested scrums which changed the whole dynamic of the match. i guess my point is that whilst the Lions lost, the welsh and irish pushed extremely close and on another day could have won. I just think there's more talent in wales and ireland that is being given credit for. I mean there are WORLD CLASS 22's posted here that doesn't even show a single welshman or irishman, yet some of these players bossed their counterparts on the Lions tour, yet aren't given any kind of plaudits. |

Gerry,
all will be answered in the next 6 weeks.
The question is, will it be your dream NH domination over the 3 SH nations? Or will it be the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: your worst nightmare?
Can't wait boys |

| ha ha ha how did you know mate are you in the cubical next door:) If you dont have a realistic view (or balanced as you called it) then you are lying to yourself. I just read my post again and i didnt mean any disrespect to the Aussies its just the commentators irritate me so much (from childhood!!!:) And yes the guys at work give me up hill when they win. The company is split 50%/50% between Aus/kiwi so i get a hard time either way mate!!! Awesome country i love the people and thanks for having me!!! L |

Luan,I can't actually believe I agree with a SA poster. Finally someone with a balanced view.
Good to have u on board mate.
I'll bet you are living in Oz and can't handle the ribbing you get from your work mates when Oz actually beat u.
OOOOHHHHH.Brisbane what a game did you see AA Copper after he scored that try.........
Yep it's been a lean year.
I'll settle for a win over the over confident Kiwi's and a grand slam.
I live in hope !! |

| Geraint i agree with some of what you said but not all! We beat wales in cardiff last summer so thats wales out of the way and if we beat the irish this summer then it should prove a point. Wales has only beaten SA once EVER. Ireland has beaten SA 3 times and the one in 2004 we were cheated (which wouldnt have effected a world class player but the boys were still young back then and couldnt get back due to the fact they werent mature enough yet) but the last two matches have gone to ireland. So ireland might just do it again. I think NH rugby is getting stronger which is awesome because you never know who could win! But ill say this about your previous post. If the lions dominated 6 halves why didnt they win surely world class players would go for the kill and end it when they have the advantage and i dont see that from NH rugby at this stage! Also scrummaging/refereeing issues and players getting hurt is all part of rugby all teams get faced with that but class elimates that from the game and that is what has made NZ rugby so successful since the professional era. If we are on a battle field and i kill a enemy then i win the battle and then the war if the rest of the guys come to the party. Thats just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions! Geraint you will also find that i give more credit to the NH than the rest of the guys on here! The truth is the NH players aren't there just yet. But who knows it could all change on this tour! I like Welsh and Irish rugby just not when they play against the boks!! I hate loosing to NH and Aussies. I can handle the kiwis they are great and the fact is that SA and NZ has dominated world rugby for years |

| i'd love to see a NH v SH game, but it will never happen unfortunately. although i'd like to see before the next british lions tour, a british lions team taking on the barbarians packed with southern hemisphere players as a warm up game. |

| Luan.cronje - let's not go down that road. in six halfs of rugby, the Lions totally outplayed the Boks. We were let down in the first half of the first primarily down to poor refereeing/scrummaging (not sure which), and then in the second test we were let down by Adam Jones, Gethin Jenkins, Jamie Roberts and Brian O'Driscoll going off within minutes of each other. Up to that point the Lions were completely and utterly on top. In all tests, the teams were dominated by Welsh and Irish, the fact that the Lions were so dominant is more to do with the strength of Welsh and Irish rugby at the moment. The Lions also made at least 10 changes from their first test starting line up and who played in the final match, so that shouldn't come into the reckoning. Also, the Lions also had little time to gel, having never played before (unlike the Boks stable team), and we were away from home. That the Wales/Irish completely outplayed you in 4 out of 6 tests surely shows you are underestimating the ability of welsh and irish players. |

Can you NH boys name a team to put along side what many of the SH guys think is the Worlds best team.
That way we can compare and MAYBE even add a token NH guy into the World team haha.
On the bench of course...

Gerry,
The Wiiliams pair are world class. The others - not yet or no way. Roberts & Byrne look the goods, but there are a lot of guys in front of them at the moment. Jenkins..; we'll see over the next month.
Phillips? Just check that we undersztand the question: WHO IS WORLD CLASS? We're talking rugby players, right? LOL. Just kidding. But he ain't in that group, by a loooong shot. |

| Geraint you recently went to South Africa with the best in England,Wales,Scotland,Ir eland!!! You won one game against a team that made 10 changes to the STARTING 15. All those players are world class. But what happened you lost 2-1 and it was very close and you played away from home but world class means that factors like that dont phase you because you better than that!! But i agree there were some world class players but not nearly as many as in the Springbok team not to mention NZ and Aus!!! They should have a NH team and a SH team that would be a awesome fixture |

Geraint, no slight on Phillips, but I don't think there is a 9 in the world at the moment who comes near Du Preez, and that comes from an Aussie!

To Kip - it was a tongue in cheek comment about all the world class welsh players, cranking up a bit of banter before the All Blacks match. Can't believe you actually took it in. As it happens though, I do think Wales has some world class players:
Shane Williams
Lee Byrne
Jamie Roberts
Ryan Jones
Mike Phillips
Martyn Williams
Gethin Jenkins
I don't think any of these players would look out of place in a Boks or All Blacks jersey, and all those players have performed exceptionally well in a British Lions team. Not sure reasons for your disparaging comments about Mike Phillips, he's by far the best scrum half in the northern hemisphere, and was excellent in the Lions tour. Any team in the world would choose him as their 9.
Here are some other Welsh players that I think will develop into world class players with a bit more time:
James Hook (as inside centre)
Dan Biggar (outside half)
Leigh Halfpenny (wing)
Alun Wyn-Jones (second row)
Jonathan Davies (centre) |

Luan, yes I do rate Thorne above Bakkies, although I am quite happy to have Bakkies included in a list of world class players. Both are top shelf, both very hard, Bakkies perhaps a fraction ahead in the lineout but Thorne's mobility is what wins me, he's like having another 6 in the loose.
I think Thorne was one of the main reasons the AB's gave us Aussies such a walloping in Wellington.

Ah yes but we forget Pacific Islands, Pumas, etc
I agree that there is a SH bias here but can we as NH supporters add our players.
I notice for example that Mark Bish has selected just 3 Welshies.
Can this be Geraint???
