| Actually you forgot 2. The great Dally Messenger was a union boy as well. I mean there are over 40 Wallabies who went on to become Kangaroos. It's about half a dozen the other way round. |

| Umm you forgot 1 important one Gale. A bloke called Wally Lewis was the back up 5/8 to Mark Ella in the '77 Australian Schoolboys side. |

Let's look at it in reverse, for any of those McDingleDongle rugby league types who think union has nicked some of their good players...
Ray Price: union to league
Wally Lewis: union to league
Russell Fairfax: union to league
Michael O'Connor: union to league
should I go on...?
Just 2 of those 4 are amongst the top 5 EVER to play league (Price, Lewis).
Only 1 of them is amongst the top 5 EVER to play union (Price) |

Tahu! Now there's a joke! Another waste of money, highly paid playing club rugby where he probably should have started not finished. Something badly wrong with these goings on.
He might have made the squad but will be lucky to get a start. |

ohh look we spent all that money and now we want it back. i think the ARU are nit picking finding excuses to get rid of him. Look at the end of the Day all those league guys did nothing for the game.
Look at the young talent we have now "spend some money on club development and a national comp"
Thats all thanks |

O'Neill confirmed he had warned Tuqiri in an August 2007 letter that further breaches of the players code of conduct would not be tolerated.
He described suggestions he had a personal agenda against Tuqiri as "ridiculous" and said the winger's massive salary was not a consideration.
Yeah right J, you must hate the fact that Flowers spent so much of your inheritance on a washed up League player. |

Dinglefinger,
Rogers by his own admission was too dumb to understand rugby union. Sailor was a crack-head with a snorting problem. Both are right at home in the NRL. A game where intelligence is not required and no code of conduct exists. |

You have got to be kidding me. It had nothing to do with league. Plain and simple, he just screwed up and did not think that the powers that be would give him the consequences of those actions. He has been a good player in the past but could not make the team this year. He probably would have made the team but because of his lack of discipline he is now unavailable for selection. This should serve as a good wake up call that there is a code of conduct and when you earn the big bucks and are a star there are consequences for not living up to that code of conduct.

| It just goes to show how Rugby look after their own. Matt rogers was the first to go & he is still carving teams up in the toughest comp in the world, Wendell was next and yes Wendel did stuff up but he is also playing great football,Now lote the all blacks, springboks & 6 Nations teams would be throwing parties now. I mean Australian Rugby does not have any intimidating players. Beric barns,Tahu & cross should watch their backs because it seems that Rugby union is now going back to the dark ages where Rugby League players were not welcome.I can't believe that robbie Deans is for real if he thinks Adam Ashley-Cooper or O'connor are the answer to Australia's full back problems. And Mortlock is to old & slow. When he plays against quality centres who are quick he gets left behind. So all I can say is that I will be watching the Tri nations and Australia getting pumped by the all blacks & Springboks.Whilst Lote will probably be earning millions playing in france. I wish he would make himself avaiable for Fiji some of the Australian backs would be scared if he did. |

| Tuqiri was on a last chance, I may be reading into ti wrong but it seems there is a bit more to it than being out at 1:15am at the casino. O'Neill isn't a silly man so my thoughts are that they have gone over this with their legal advisors already to make sure their ar5es are covered. Ugly situation. I do remember reading somewhere that Deans was no fan of Tuqiri either and didn't see him in plans for 2011. Guess we'll find out more when they have the press conference. |

Nice work Robbie. Thats Lote gone, now all you got to do is get rid of Giteau and Mortlock by 2011 and your job will be done, Aussie will be in tatters and you can come back home to NZ after being our secret weapon to dismantle Aussie before the 2011 world cup.
But seriously, this is the smartest thing the ARU has done in a decade. I hope they have done it all above the board as well. Tiquiri is a leach sucking the life out of the ARU. The money saved from ditching him can be used to fund so much grass root rugby it is not funny.
Oh and Ado, why you knocking Bish. I dont know how many post I have read from you criticising how much Lote makes and what he delivers and finally the ARU do what many of you are after and you go into bat for him. Try not being such a hypocrite and standing by your convictions. |

Bye Bye Lote. Good Riddance
Good player, no doubt, but terrible sportsmanship on and off the field.
The McCaw incident, spear tackle then stands over him yelling and runs off laughing about possibly ending someones career as they still lay motionless on the ground...
NZ Bledisloe cup win (cant remember which one, theres been so many), spencer had a blinder, after the game Lote refused to shake his hand instead pulling his hand away and pulling the old "wip de do" and walked off.
Your a D1ck Lote
Got what you deserve

No matter which way you look at this, it is going to get ugly and public. It will suck for Loti but if he is guilty, then he got what he deserved. It will be bad for rugby.......

If I remember correctly, O'Neil was never a big fan of Tuquiri and his big dollar contract. He made noises after Tuquiri's last run of disciplinary actions and put him on some kind of warning. Last maybe.
Tuquiri was a better player before he signed that contract, he has been up and down since, mostly down.
If the ARU have gone about this by the book and have terminated him without renumeration, John's books will look even better next year. He can probably buy a couple of players on that sort of dollar.
Tuquiri will want to try and save face on this one, being sacked in a very public forum can hurt a mans pride. |

you're right ado, there is still the legal battle...but if he loses that, the thing is that the vast majority of Lote's cash comes from the ARU...not NSW...i don't think he will accept to take such a huge pay cut...and without no chance of making the Wallabies every again...much lesser cash...i think is a small chance he will just stay in rugby for the Tahs...
one thing is certain....O;Neill's conference tomorrow will be a really interesting one...can't wait. |
