Just saw it on Youtube (gouging). Looks suspicious.
Did you see the Andrew Sheridan punch. Went into the balls of the Boks number 18. Check it on Youtube. How many other things went 'unoticed' ? No wonder the Boks, and especially Bakkies, were after him all the time. Must have been all the punches and other hidden things he did in the scrums and mauls we did not see. |

Did anyone see this gouging innocent? I missed it, where can one see it, video on some site?
Burger is not my favourite player. I think the Boks have a couple of other players as loosies, I would rather play, I prefer Heinrich Brussouw. No big loss to to the boks (Burger's penalty)
Burger apoligised in South African newspapers, and said it was not intentional. What do you think, I did not see it?

Geraint,
You are a bad loser, like many poms. Go and take a cold shower, and not a pommy one! Any Lions tour is planned well in advance, and with the INPUT AND CONSENT of the Lions management. Nothing was forced upon them. It is not that the Lions decided 2 weeks before the tour, hey lets go to South Africa! If they were unprepared, badly managed, and injured, then it is their own fault. Don't blame it on the South Africans. The previous Lions were brilliant when in South Africa, and most South Africans will give them the credit for it. Why were they so good? Better captain, preparation, management, motivation. And mate, test games in South Africa are always a sell-out. Actually, I saw more red in the stadium than green! Should have felt like a home game for the Lions! Regarding incidents, I saw a couple of things the Lions did that weren't too innocent either, and they were trying their best to provoke the Boks all the time. The Boks will not take s#@t. Maybe the tactic was to hope for a red card, and then win with 15 against 14. Favourite England tactic.
Treated as cash cows!? Auggggh! What the f@?k!!! Get lost!
Go the Boks!!!! May the best team win in the 3rd, and not the referee.
Cheers |

The Lions are far from innocent, one of there own was banned for exactly the same affence David wallace and could not go on tour because of it. One of the Italians eye gouged Issac Ross in that test match, he was cited but never heard what happened, should of or maybe has been banned as well.
It's just something that needs to be sorted and happens all to often. To flay Skalk without mentioning the rest is just sour grapes. I always thought he was tough but fair this incident is a black mark against him for sure and he deserves his punishment. |

| Have to Laugh at O'Dribble. Has to be the biggest Sook in World Rugby. Write another Book Brian, you can release it when the Boks turn up in Ireland to wipe your boys. |

The years that we have been in this room I've noticed that the NH barely give any congratulations when they have been constantly beaten up by better NZ teams. The excusses are always there.
As for Geraint. He's a bit one eyed and thats fair enough. He doe's go overboard and likes to hype up his middle of the table welsh rugby side especially when their not playing you. "If we were playing you this year .... rahdy rah"
Boks are the better team.
Some dirty play got what it deserved (8 weeks)
Im not surprised by the Bakkies appeal (that is rugby) |

Jeez Geraint,
I would have to agree with Bok on this one. I think he answered you criticism well and your little rave is off target. Not sure what the problem is but Bok is right. Good sportsmanship is needed on both sides. The BOKs have had to take some heat over that with the foray of offences that they have committed. However, the Lions were not lilly white innocents in the same matters. So, good sportmanship from both teams is a must...
Blessings

Geraint, WHOA!! Wait, hang on a minute there, you are obviously upset at losing the last 2 games.
Why congratulate?
Good sportsmanship.
Congratulations for gouging me in the eye?
Burger is guilty, no question about it. 8 weeks suspension.
Sly punches?
You being one eyed?
Pleb coach?
Forced on us.
Empty stadiums?
They were sold out.
Fielding a weakened team?
You smoking your cereal?
Cash cows?
We the SAfican fans paid good and hard earned bucks to see the games.
Treating with contempt?
Who is guilty? SAfrican public, SARU or de idiot? (huge difference)
Lions had precious little time together?
What the heck are you on? Where have you been for the last few months in a bubble?
As for the rest?
We only get the Lions here every 12 years and although I would personally not like to see the event being lost, what the heck I'll be 62yrs old come the next meet, which is a life time away.
Truth being told our real competition remains the All Blacks. They are and remain the team to beat.

| why should the Lions congratulate the Boks? what is there to congratulate ? oh, congratulations for gouging me in the eye, congratulations for the late tackles, congratulations for the sly punches, congratulations for having a pleb of a coach who brought the game into disrepute, congratulations for having half empty stadiums, congratulations for fielding weakened teams, and finally congratulations for treating the Lions tour as a cash cow and basically treating the British and Irish supporters with contempt. Personally, I'd be happy if the Lions never went back to South Africa and they just stick to Australia and New Zealand, and maybe open up to playing Argentina or Pacific Islands. Remember, its no big deal beating the Lions, particularly as the world champions who have played together for the past 4 years, on home soil, at altitude, where the Lions have had precious little game time together, to have only won by a few points in each game, says more about the lack of quality of the Boks than it does the Lions. The Lions have been thrown together, crippled by injuries, and still managed to nearly turn them over, says alot about their qualities. I only wish Wales were playing them in the autumn as we'd turn you lot over, no problem. Our front row destroyed you, our backs mesmerised you, and you'd have no chance against us at home. |

Hey Bish,
If a team does not have a good coach, they do not do well on the paddock. Case and point is the WALs. Now they have Dingo, they are playing a lot better. I would not short change DeVilliers in the coaching department. However, he is short changed in the good judgement department when he is put in front of the media.

Hey Kiwimex
Agree that De villiers is a bit of a joke. Lacks respect for his opposition and the games history. Pretty much an idiot.
Dont believe he's having that big a say in the coaching department so he's trying to make his mark in the press. Apparently the team is coaching itself. This to me is'nt working. Souh Africa are in a Golden period. The talent and depth they have is unmatched in world rugby at present and they should be a more dominant force then what they are at the moment. If this SAF squad was coached by Henry, Hansen and Smith they would be unstopable

I have to agree with you Jet. De Villiers makes so many stupid comments you just have to laugh. He is obviously doing alright as a coach but in the PR department he is just short changed. Denying that Burger did any wrong doing was plain dumb... par for the course for DeVilliers. Perhaps someone will write a book and stupid and dumb remarks by DeVilliers - it sure would have a lot of chapters.
Blessings

Infringements aside, that was a scary and intimidating effort by the boks forwards on the weekend. I haven't seen them with that aggression for years- Matfield in particular was awesome I thought.
If they bring that to the table during the tri's I wont be backing anyone else. |

Bok,
I didn't see the Botha shoulder charge so i can't comment on that one.
I'll admit though he is an intimidating figure and over the last few years no-one has really stood up to him.
He is just so friggin huge |

Burger deserves his 8 weeks, his 50th and that is his style of play?. Botha was being baited constantly. He remains one of the toughest players today and has calmed down, plenty.( please do not turn him into a wuss!!)
The Ref was not consistent and had a lot to do with the style of play.
