Ado,
I get on here and do abit of $hit stirring.
The last 2 posts you made you were a 100% correct with both of them. The last couple of years aussie supporters have copped a fair bit of sh=8 about the Wallabies.
I think it might be the year they give it back ! Still predict the ABs to win the Tri-Nations and the Bleds.

P.S. I'm being too nice, without a Kiwi the aussies couldn't win anything !

They were cr/ap and you know it. Everyone who saw it know it. When Mexted is slamming the AB's you know there is a problem. Dont really give two hoots what you think, everyone who saw that game knows that was a D- effort by the AB's.

If you and all the other Henry bum boys think he is great, then good on you. He aint going to bring you a world cup with this pack of park footballers.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
tornado - what a load of bs

Didnt you watch the 1st test against france? Or the WC semi against france? Or the 2003 semi against aussie? All far worse than the italian game.

Gower did nothing but kick all night - sure he did that well but his team was never going to score many points with that tactic. Mcalister was poor i agree, toeava was mixed - some very good, some very bad.

For the record - Henry is the most successful Rugby coach OF ALL TIME (based on win percentage). Over-rated I think not.

Btw If your going to make radical remarks and least give them some substance by providing some examples/proof.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
That was the worst effort I've seen from the AB's in at least a decade. if not for Mils, Mealamu and overdue inform Joe they could have lost that.

McCallister shown how to play union by a league convert who cant even speak the same language as his team mates. And Toeava...shocker. Leaderless, clueless and saved only because they remembered how to play touch.

And a big thumbs up to all you Henry fans out there. Three games in a row he has proved the most over rated coach in international rugby.

His place kicks were great , his tactical kicking was woeful - notice mils coming into 1st5 - shoving lucky luke outta the way in the first half?

Btw im picking a bronze medal for the ABs in the 3N this yr based solely on the lack of a 1st5. The other crucial positions I think we look good

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
2. Slade will be there in 2-3 yrs mark my words!! Hes more of a mehrtens than a carter
3. Not yet - you dont really expect these young guys to be world class already do you? My point was he has the talent to be world class - give him time
4. Read & add whitelock to that list
5. I would suggest Smith was the incumbent, toeava has the talent but at this stage i agree - he is lacking the class

I thought your point was theres no young talent coming through? In which case i strongly disagree. The current team is very young, plus there are a lot of younger players with huge talent, I think the ABs are weak now but the prospects for 2010-11-12 are fantastic ;)

Ghost,

2. None of these blokes - ex Cruden whom I admit I haven't seen yet but know he has big wraps - are not in carter's class nor look it
3. I am a fan of Jane's, but he is not a patch on Mils
4. The only potential world class 6 is Read. Messam & Kaino aren't that good, although Messam has imporved a lot this season and could lift.
5. Kahui is the incumbent, so you can't name him. Toeva is definitely a talent, but inconsistent.

Mate, we are in violent agreement on your last paragraph. exaclty my point.

gale

1. I dont know
2. No-one except Carter looks like Carter but these guys will be hitting their straps in 2-3 years - Aaron Cruden, Colin Slade, Daniel Bowden
3. Cory Jane - he is all class
4. Are you kidding? Read, Messam, Vito all looking mighty promising to me. Plus Kaino, Latimer not that old. I dont see an openside flanker of McCaw/Kronfeld/Jones quality but who knows? They seem to pop up when we need them
5. Kahui, Toeava both young remember
6. I dont know - GH seems to like playing blindside flankers here though so refer to # 4.

The problem is not lack of talent, its lack of experience. It seems only yesterday there were effectively two world class AB teams playing alternate weeks. But those days are long gone!

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
Definitely need McCallister at 10. Donald's a duck. And there's no one else putting their hand up. If Italy get some ball it will be interesting to see hopw he handles Gower who is the one class back the italians have.

Not a bad side picked this week. A few new introductions and the return of Williams should make for interesting viewing. AB's by 20plus....perhaps.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
Little Harsh on McCalister I think, he's a definate world class player. 2 games off the bench is'nt enough as yet but he's proven his class. He was one of the outstanding players in the Heneiken Cup. Giteau, Carter & Peienaar I'll give you but the rest aren't all that and Macca would be in the mix.

de Malmanche is a beast, benches over 220 and squats something ridiculous. Dodgy on the throw however which we cant afford. If you cant win clean lineout ball these days you should probably lose the game.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
Mex,

Whilst all the players you refer to are excellent players, at this stage i wouldn't rate one of them as world class - including Macca. He's done nothing to impress so far this season. He's certainly not a Giteau, Carter or even Barnes, Pienaar or O'Gara.

de Melmanche appears to be the best propsect of stepping up, but the coach won't give him enough time. Maybe he knows something we don't...

Gale,

1. De Melmance
2. McCallister
3. Cory Jane
4. Did you watch last weeks game? The flankers went well

Granted there are a few problems but none that cannot and will not be answered. This team will mature and with the return of some experienced players will be a winner in every sense.

Blessings

Mel

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
Jam,

I've seen your recent posts in other threads re AB.

You seem to think that bringing thru a raft of new players is the same as blooding new talent. I think what it is showing is that the new crop of players being brought thru is short on talent - particularly for the stellar standards set by the All Blacks.

Let's test the theory: -

1. Who are the up-and-coming front rowers that look potentially world class?
2. Who looks like a future Dan Carter at no 10?
3. Who looks world class at 15 other than Mils?
4. Where are the world class raft of flankers coming thru?
5. What midfield talent looks like it could damage at a world class level?
6. Where is a decent looking no 8 lurking in the wings?

As I keep saying, if you Kiwis can see this, then all power to you. As a pretty basic Aussie, it's got me stumped...

So'oialo is as good as Spies, Heaslip, Palu & Harinordiquy and is arguably more consistent than the lot and has a much better work rate than all of them put together.

Richard Brown is still raw if you ask me and hasnt really set the world on fire at international level yet.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
1. Wyatt *** ett
2. Keven Mealamu
3. John Afoa
4. Brad Thorn
5. Ali Williams
6. Jerome Kaino
7. Tanerau Latimer
8. Kieran Read
9. Brendon Leonard
10. Luke McAlister
11. Josevata Rokocoko
12. Ma’a Nonu
13. Isaia Toeava
14. Lelia Masaga
15. Mils Muliaina – captain

Reserves:
16. Aled de Malmanche
17. Tony Wood ***
18. Owen Franks
19. Isaac Ross
20. George Whitelock
21. Piri Weepu
22. Cory Jane

Some good some unavoidable selections here, front row looks good, Mealamu deserves his spot, experience needed up front, Demalmanche will get his chance on Saturday, it is the ideal game to introduce him. Williams needs the game time having played f-all this year. Back three get anmother shot, Read went well last week so he will be looking for a step up. Luke at 10 is a big question mark, he is a 12 predomonantly a 13 occasionaly and a 10 hardly ever. Absolutely no choice here, Donald out injured. Toeava at 13 where he is predominantly a Fullback, 12 and occasionaly a winger. These are the two biggest selection issues. Good to see Masaga on the field, good timing again an ideal game for him to be introduced.expecting a lot from leonard, and his combo with luke will be interesting. expecting more rust here and it will take time for them to get into thegame. Forwards shouldsupply good ball and All blacks to run away with it. Smith out is a blow. Biggest problem is the 10 spot. Elswhere depth is good with the JABs playing well and the Juniors winning the WC, just no 10's in sight. Donald is way off the pace and I don't hold out much hope for Luke in the big games.

Ado,

So'oialo is SO far off being world's best number 8 it's not funny! I would've thought he was a better 6 myself. He's never impressed me @ 8.

Spies, Brown, Heaslip, Palu, Harinoroquy are all as good if not better.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
AB side to play Italy looks much more convincing in the backline with inclusion of Masaga - who should trouble Azzuri on attack - and Macca @ 10. Will be very interesting to see how Gower handles him.

Return of Williams a plus in terms of experience, but Im still not a fan.

Cr0ckett should stiffen up front 3. Woodie lucky to be warming bench and am still preplexed about Kevy over Aled for this test match.

Good luck AB

Should be a 30 point win to AB.

Re:All Blacks 2009 Reply to this message
Riddles lets just wait and see how Carter pulls up after the lay off. It's a rare talent that can be out injured for 6 months and be as good as he was before. Not saying he wont be in time, just don't build up your expectations.

Can't argue re the Smith Vs Mccaw. He is the best in the game bar none. Hasn't set the world on fire this year though - particularly with the number of injuries he's sustained.

Rodney vs Elsom One is the best number 8 in the world. The other is the best 6. No comparison to be had. Don't buy your garbage about Elsom being found wanting against anyone. Particularly your lot.
