Yo Kip,

The game to watch is the meet between B&I Lions and the Sharks.
I think this one will be a cracker. do not know how I missed it in my predictions. Here goes Sharks to take this one.... score........ Sharks 21 Lions 19

Yes Boks

Really good stuff.

There is still a magic about the Lions. It will be great to see the final first team when we play the first test

Kip,

We are in for a treat. This has been 12 years in the making and I have been looking forward to it for yonks.

Unfortunately the only game close is the upcoming Juniour meet so I will have to settle.

Good luck to you and your team.

Amabokke Bokke!!

What was it that old professor guy used to say in that show "Lost in Space"?

Oh, that's right "The Pain, The Pain", yep, I think a whole lot of it is coming the Lions way.

Don't worry Boks our full strength side will be enough to win this series.

The juniors will get a hiding if we field one of our strong line ups. People can snipe at performances where essentially the second string side is misfiring but the reality is the full Boks are in for a shock!!!!

Either why bokruggafan we are in for a treat.

Cheetahs surprised us with that close game.
Wake up call for British and Irish Lions which does not bode well for my Juniour Boks prediction.

Lions were superb. Boks better not underestimate them, they have some very good players. Good to see the team and management have taken Lions back to its earthy beginnings, not the Woodward-inspired bloated affair it became in NZ. Whether we win, lose or draw, this is what the Lions is all about.

Not that the Lions is about nationalities, but pleased with the performances of the welsh boys on tour. Particular praise for Jamie Roberts and Lee Byrne.

Kip
Like you said, last try said it all.
Been a Lion since they were still Transvaal and me knee high to a grasshopper.

Here goes..........British and Irish Lions

Beat Royal XV (just landed and deserved win)
Beat Golden Lions (saw my team creamed)
Beat Cheetahs (bottom of S14 log or should I say really)
Beat Junior Boks BUT, only in the last 20 minutes (REMINDER*** get tickets)

You Lose 1st Test 27- 10

Any takers?

Final Score

Golden Lions 10 British & Irish Lions 74

Much better

Bowe was superb but all round good

Game summed up by the last try - three crunching tackles by the Lions (could hear the gasps from the crowd as each tackle crunched in) Ferris breaks away and runs 60 yards for the try

Nuff said

Hmmmm

I think the Lions is an over rated side myself. Dont get me wrong theres tonnes of talent in there (somewhere haha) but I reckon the winning Irish team would probably play better then this composite side. I will be watching with interest. I think the Boks who are an awesome team will be far too strong. There a great team at the moment (the mighty ABs may even struggle against them in SAF)

Kip,

Lions have just landed. Early days, give em a break!!
With the games lined up, they will be up and firing on all cylinders come test time.

Yes I agree with all your comments.

A poor performance with very few positives.

No excuses

However, I think we will be competitive come the big ones but am extremely wary of the Boks all round physicality

Today lacked any consistency.

Still to have lost would have meant me disappearing from these boards for a while :)

So I guess you lot are the losers LOL

The Lions have to slow there game down and then they will win easily. They cannot play fast pace rugby yet it is not there specialty!

You watchin' this kip ??
I know it's not a full strength lions side but not a good start.
One positive is the scrum i suppose but then that little Saffer 1/2 back keeps stealing the ball.
Also that Irish winger or 13 is he ,geez he's knocked on 5 times.
Anyway good luck for the tour mate.:)

Just thought it worth creating a thread to follow the Lions tour down in SA.

The first match kicks off in just over 2 hours.

I'm looking forward to seeing the opener as there is a lot of pace in the Lion's selection.

Don't really expect too much in the opener but a good win is essential to lay down the mark.
