coach Peter de Villiers comments when assessing the performance of scrumhalf Ricky Januarie after last week's victory over the British and Irish Lions in Durban:
"I'm not concerned about his form, he may have made a blunder but so did a few other players.

"What I learned in South Africa is, if you take your car to a garage and the owner is black or a black man, and they mess it up, you never go back to that garage," he said.

"If the owner is white, you say ag, sorry, they made a mistake and you go back again. This is how some people live their lives in this country."

classic de villiers, the boks might win the sries but he's certainly giving the lions plenty of pre match motivation.

Can't wait for it to start tomorrow.

"The guys you've got now are good but they will never be like the 1974 Lions. They will never be legends in their own time, while I think we do have it now and that's a big difference," said De Villiers. "The 1974 guys were in a class of their own and sometimes you only get that once in a lifetime."

Ouch!

Well that ought to put some spark in the Lions. Especially claiming to have a legendary team himself, did he forget about last year so soon.

Here we go again.

"We're not here to rectify the past," De Villiers said. "We want to write the history books for ourselves. We want to win the series for us now, not for those of 1997, some of whom are dead and buried, so they won't even know what we're doing."

I am sure the Dead ones families will be chuffed with that, it's only 12 years ago!
