Great looking AB side, Smith back and smokin' Joe gone until he can return to form both real pluses, hard to see a weakness. I think Rodney back is a good move too, great back row and Donnelly certainly did enough in Wellington to get another turn.
If there's a weakness I think it's the front row. I don't think Hore has been all that special this season, and really don't rate Tialata. What happened to Franks, I thought he showed real promise?
Commonsense tells ms the AB's by 10, but I can't bring myself to say it.
Wallabies by 2, GO THE WALLABIES

Hey Zedds.
I'm lookin at that squad and trying to think of some weak areas and what comes to mind is Mils and Sivi under the high ball in a big wind and wet weather.
I think Black have it over our 2nd row but I think we match your front row and backrow(PoC@@k/Richie will be interesting).
The black back-line look pretty good and one of the best balanced what with Conrad back and Nonu at 12 and Jane and Sivi.
Oz with good service from Genia and Digby,Hynes and a solid 13 in Cross i think it'll be an even match.
Oz to win by 4. :))) |

| this is a massive shame for Wales and for all spectators hoping for a competitive game against the All blacks. Whilst we've got more strength in depth than in previous years, not being able to call up the likes of Dwayne Peel, Eifion Roberts, Lee Thomas and Nicky Robinson as replacements for our injured first team players is nightmare. I never thought it would come to this, and we may as well hand the game to the All Blacks before we even start. I guess this is one way for the English to get one over us, by stealth. |

I think this is a terrible shame. And the shame goes to England's club rugby program, and possibly also to the schedulers who placed the game outside the IRB window. If the commercial aspects of the game now dictate that International Test are no longer at the forefront of the game, then I reckon we have crossed a very serious threshold.
It's pretty clear, actually, that this is exaclty what has happened - with the proliferation of competitions (more bums in seats at least on an integrated basis = more $), the schedule now is entirely outrageous. We'll see the penalty not only in missed opportunities such as this, but also in shorter careers, with more injuries.

I agree...
Coz Wales bt Scotland in 09
Scotland bt Italy
Italy bt Argentina
Argentina bt England
England bt France
and Ireland bt them all
then France beat New Zealand
Therefore all these teams can beat the All Blacks
Even though
Ireland, Scotland, Italy, and Argentina never have
Wales hasn't in 56years
and England Hasn't in 6 years |

neither did the French, but they still came down and beat you recently!
the French only just beat Wales and we actualy finished on the same points as them, so you can't really read into this too much. We beat England who absolutely annihilated the French, who then went on to beat you a couple of months later. If you follow that through, because we beat England, therefore we're going to annihilate the All Blacks ? Not sure about, but certainly beating them.
anyway, i'm might be revising my predictions if we have any more injury concerns. we have three of our world class players out now: Lee Byrne, Mike Phillips and Adam Jones. If we lose any more of our world class talent, we may be struggling a bit. |

for christ's sake, it's a bit of banter, stop analying it to the n'th degree.
wales do beat the southerners, and starting to become regular against the aussies, so that's not quite true is it, plus the kiwis in the 7s. not sure what the point of that statement is.
I'm not arguing about the past, and form doesn't really mean alot, something the kiwis know all about going into a world cup. Kiwi teams have been pretty destructive against Wales in the closing 15-20 minutes, and generally that is why the scores have been so high against them. for the preceding 50-55 minutes generally there hasn't been alot in it. However, i've seen the intensity of the current crop of welsh players and i just don't think they'll tire like they have done in the past. That, plus the fact that Kiwis have not been in topform of late, leads me to believe that the welsh have an excellent chance of winning. they'll have to perform in all departments, but I think they have the people to do that. I can't think of one area where the Kiwis are going to dominate the welsh.
anyway, we'll see in a month or so. If we lose by 20 points markbishop then we'll be absolutely gutted; make no mistake they're targeting this as a win. |

| Fair enough and i agree that comment is stupid especially if you consider that the all blacks are the most successful team in the world and in my opinion the best rugby nation regardless off what the rankings and world cups results look like!!! Any kiwi would be a proud one to be part of that culture and be amongst the elite few that have put that jumper on! I think Wales stand their best chance this year but i dont think thats enough! Even if the kiwis loose it doesnt mean that the players shouldnt want to be a kiwi! You win some you loose some! Its like saying i wouldnt want to be a welshman because they never beat the Southerners |

Hey Laun
I Disagree, if you watched the All Blacks games this year you would have noticed a complete change in game play, I think the fact that the Boks got so far ahead in Hamilton allowed this change to happen. Again against Australia, the score line may have only blown out in the last 15minutes but the Wallabies were purely hanging on the whole game and finally broke. The Wallabies were totally outclassed for 70minutes of that game, not just the 15minutes the score got away on them.
Im not saying that Wales don't have a chance, Hell its 80minutes of rugby anything can happen, what I am suggesting is that the comment "I wouldn't want to be a kiwi" is a stupid one on the back of 50+ years of history.
One day Wales will beat the All Blacks (surely??) However This set up?? Im confident it wont happen this year. |

| Mark you do know that 100 min of good rugby does not make you better than settled team. I dont even know if its a 100 min because you beat the WAL's in the last 10/15min in the last test, you came back into the game in the last 20 min against a springbok side that was on tour for 3 weeks and thought the game was won (you gave us a scare), you could only manage 1 victory against france who was on the same points as wales in the 6 nations! You might be getting yourself in trouble! My money is on the all blacks only because of history but you setting yourself up for trouble:) |

7s Tournament
A team picked after 160 players are selected for other teams in NZ. That has absolutely no reflection what so ever on the All Blacks, you might aswel compare a football win over us as a way of finding some kind of hope that the All Blacks are beatable.
I wouldn't want to be a kiwi in this match is a joke of a statement. You guys will put up a fight, granted, but a 20 point loss in your home stadium is the closest you have come to the ABs in 5 years.
Geraint a 20 point loss will be a fairly good result for you guys this year. The last 100minutes of rugby from the All Blacks has seen them play a better style of game and if that continues you guys will struggle.
As for your players (most of who regarded "world class")
Gethin Jenkins,
Matthew Rees,
Alun-Wyn Jones,
Ian Evans,
Ryan Jones,
Martyn Williams,
Andy Powell,
Stephen Jones,
Shane Williams,
Jamie Roberts,
Tom Shanklin,
Leigh Halfpenny,
Lee Byrne.
All Started for you guys last year
Many hve experienced massive loses at the hands of the ABs including the thumping in 2006.
If you guys come close I WILL give you credit, but its a bigger game you talk then that in which you play. |

were we watching the same match? wales were in the lead at half time (does that constitute a thumping?) and you only scored when two of our players were injured on the ground which created the gaps for you to score, and then you scored a try in the last minute when wales were throwing the ball around recklessly to reduce the deficit. It was no more than a 6/7 point win in my opinion. You deserved to win, but it was not a thumping.
This year though, I really fancy our chances. Here is the likely Wales team, with a few close calls. Interesting thing is wales have got real quality injury replacements, and we're not going to tire like we have done in recent years. There's some real class in this Welsh team, and i really think you're going to have your hands full to contain this lot. We've got some extremely talented youngsters coming through as well which you probably haven't seen before. I really think this is our year. Plus we beat you twice in the 7s tournaments this year (which we've never done before) so these guys know that you're beatable.
Gethin Jenkins (British Lion, world class)
Matthew Rees (British Lion)
Eifion Roberts
Alun Wyn Jones (British Lion, world class)
Ian Evans
Martyn Williams (British Lion, world class)
Ryan Jones / Andy Powell (both previous British Lions)
Mike Phillips (British Lion, world class)
Stephen Jones (British Lion) / Dan Biggar (aged 19)
James Hook (British Lion, world class) / Jon Davies (aged 21)
Jamie Roberts (British Lion, world class) / Tom Shanklin
Shane Williams (British Lion, world class) / Leigh Halfpenny (aged 19)
Tom James (aged 22)
Lee Byrne (British Lion, world class)
As I say, i think its probably better for a Kiwi not to play in this match in my opinion. |
