Maybe Ado but it's a tough one (r.e. Donald vs Evans). Donald has showed some real promise, and he should be fairly safe behind an AB pack. Carter will still be playing in this years internationals won't he?? I thought his 'sabbatical' started at the end of the international season?
PS also agree from posts below that Messam deserves to be involved. Start him at 6 with Jerry/Masoe on the bench. |

Well if I was a K1, I'd still have Evans as my first pick 10. I don't really like Donald behind a pack that is going backwards as we saw in the Chiefs first few games.
No doubt Hockings will come into the mix soon Gale. On form you'd start with Vickerman and Chisolm, but one of those two is going to the UK soon, so there will be a spot. And it will be filled by with either Hocking or Horwill. |

JC seems to have lost his mojo with the loss of 10 kilos over the summer. He just doesn't seem to be the same player anymore.
Why stick with a losing recipe Kiwimex/Zedds? You guys have got talent to burn and the best time to test it is against England. Pick on form not reputation.
Some interesting quanderies in the backs for AB as well - in particular the safe, predictable DC versus the dynamic, mercurial (dare I say it - he's reminding me of Los a bit) Stephen Donald. On form, you'd have him there. But what would be the cost to the stability of the team?
Zedds, agree with you re Palu & Waugh (I'm with you on waugh normally, but he has really stepped up his game and is no 1 openside in aussie at the mo).
In fact Tahs could have 6 of the front 8 on form. I'd have Tom Hockings in my sights as a lock (probably in front of Sharp if he is alongside DV). |

Yeah I think we will go OK, just because we lost to France doesn't mean we have to change a winning formula. Those guys got us the Bled and Trinations last year. Would like to see Messam have a run as well and Masoe is playing very well also. Jerry just needs some incentive, maybe Pom bashing will do it.
Obviously Oz need changes, they havn't won a gameor a trophy for years have they? Thank god a Kiwi is in charge otherwise they would have no chance.
Like Palu and dare I say it Waugh Waugh what is he good for is playing well to. |

Geez Gale,
I don't think we need to make any "real changes." The team will do well without any changes. Wait until after the ENG have toured here and then comment on whether changes are needed.

MG,
Admit to missing Canes game last weekend, but I would hardly say Rodney has been in sparkling form all season.
Fat boy Lauaki is by far the standout no 8 in NZ at the mo, with Nick Williams probably no 2.
Kieran Read is the form no 6 for mine. He appears to be lumbering but is a fantastic worker, breaks the line with regularity, is a very smart footballer and has a great offload (always looking).
Masoe has a Cliffy Palu type of blockbusting effect, but does too many dumb things.
If you guys really want to make a difference, then do what you - quite rightly - tell us Aussies to do: have the balls to make some REAL changes. |

Forgive me for interupting. However I do watch the games.
Liam Messam should be in the AB starting XV.
I have been hugely impressed with his workrate, attitude and above all else skill.
Somewhere in your pack you need a ball player like Messam.
It doesn't surprise me how the Chiefs are pushing in the Super 14 with this guy firing.
Indeed I reckon the Chiefs can win it!
As regard the June tests - LOOK OUT

| Quite possibly, KOB. I had wondered if his size would count against him at International level though. Would like to see more of Messam and what he can do. Maybe try him out in the June tests? |

MG your forgetting one huge contender for No 6.
Liam Messam.
Hes been in form all year, well a few years actually last night he showed his skills and awareness with a huge kick down into open space.
If hes overlooked well goodbye RWC 2011.

After another World Cup failure it maybe fair to say that some new players in new positions should be tried. New combinations in the All Blacks team. Two players who I feel don't deserve to be replaced are Richie McCaw and Rodney So'oialo. So'oialo has great leadership, is no stranger to captaining both the Hurricanes and ABs -- basically hes been in form all season. Especially his performance over night in South Africa, dotting down for a try and making a HUGE amount of tackles. His work rate as a number eight is phenomenal. Has been for a long time.
Richie McCaw. Same old same old this season. Out-standing player. You don't need to say much. There not really much reason to replace him unless it's for injury or personal reasons.
Jerry Collins has shown moments of brilliance but nothing nearly as great as what we're use to seeing. He still plays that 'enforcer' role but not quite with the same flair. There may still be room for him in the AB sqaud however although...
I say give Chris Masoe a chance in the number 6 jersy. Masoe has clearly been in form pretty much all season with So'oialo. A very strong ball runner, as quick if not then quicker than Collins, and since hes use to playing on the openside flank -- Masoe is good at getting turnover ball. Masoe showed last night he can continue that excellence on the blindside flank. Perhaps we could have Jerry Collins on the bench -- as he is able to cover number 8 and blindside flanker. We'd just have to hope Masoe (who remember, can play all 3 positions) and McCaw don't get injured in the same match, lol.
Or have I got this wrong? Is there still room for Jerry Collins in the starting 15? Should we try Mose Tuiali'i at 8? Should Daniel Briad, Kireran Read and Tanerau Latimer not be over looked just yet? Well for me, this is how things are looking for the All Blacks so far. Masoe could do just a good of job as Collins would do at 6. |
