| I wasn't aware of Nucifora being anywhere near the Blues camp back in 2003. As I remember, the Blues had a coaching panel consisting of Sloane, Graham Henry, Bruce Robertson, Grant Fox, Wayne Pivac and Sean Fitzpatric. I must say that Sloane on his own (excuse the rhyme) was a disaster and Nuci is at least a couple of notches above him. The Auckland NPC team also came down to Wellington and beat my lot in the final that year. I've never seen another team with such confidence on attack as that Blues and Auckland NPC outfit. The Wellington team that it beat in the final was good, but Wellington, like all the other NZ teams had no answer to Auckland's relentless attacking flair. |

the great thing about the 2003 we best Canterbury twice, In the super final and then in the Npc Final...
The best bit was Carlos Spencer scoring in the corner and the slotting it over and then giving the southerners the right gun salute....
Those were the good days when Nucifora was assistant coach and did'nt make any decisions |

Yeah hifrom him, the 2003 Super 12 was one hell of a ride for us Blues fans.
It's a joke that memories of five seasons ago is all we have to smile about. |

| Totally agree with you rugbycolumn. I'd rather see Pat Lam at the helm. The Blues had a fantastic winning formula in 2002-2003. They played the most exciting, attacking game I've ever seen. The Blues swept everyone aside and even the Crusaders had no answer to their attacking play. That Blues team could've beaten any other team in the world. What happened to that great coaching panel? |

Brandy?.....you're either living it up or you're old...lol
1.The test for the blues will be this coming weekend against the tahs
2.I won't be going to the game cause $40.00 is just a walk to the pub for me and a whole lot of alchohol
3.I dislike the Founder of conservative rugby
4.I hate the grinch that took the flair away from the blues
5.I'm not paying $40.00 to watch two rubbish teams
6.I admit somewhere deep in my pot belly i still have the Blues |

This is another reason I want Nucifora to go.
With the stumbling rubbish the Blues serve up lately, why would any of them be selected for international duty?
The likes of Mealamu, Rocket and Woody have proven themselves at NPC and test level but always look ordinary in thye Blues.
The smartest thing Williams ever did was go south because he was in the same boat but now he performes well and looks good week after week. |

Panther - I'm with you 100% on this.
I've worked in club administration since I stopped playing, focusing on grass-roots rugby, both school-boys and local-area union clubs. [Yes, even here in the States!] I like watching top-class rugby as much as the next bloke, but these guys all have to learn their game someplace. And part of that someplace is the traditions and spirit where we learned. I mean, there's a reason the AB's give the Haka in Maori, right?

I read Panther to be making a nice, respectful statement about Waikato rugby. I think it is a moving and very spiritual place, but maybe that's just lack of oxygen and too much sulfur affecting my brain.
Sure, Chiefs played well (thank goodness), but Rotorua is a fine place to play rugby. For portions of the region and supporters who can't easily make it to Hamilton to support the lads, it's a nice venue.

I'm as loyal to Waikato rugby at all levels as you, or Kip is to England, Geraint to Wales.
Of course I'll wait. Just had hoped for better, and today it looks as if there are major injury issues in the back line.

Loads of pressure on Ian Foster now. But, really, other than that it's easier to sack the coach than the players, what can people be thinking?
Gatland's performance with Wales (I know he has superb assistants there), if anybody needed independent evidence, shows that Waikato's limitations were never the coaching. And I expect the same is true for the Chiefs.
Any thoughts out there on what the Mooloos need to do? My vote is for a new tight five (plus losing Lauaki), though I don't know how to accomplish that. Maybe bring back Greg Smith to hook. Plus Marty Holah at 7. Hey, why not Deon Muir at 8? (or at least make Lauaki stuudy films of how a No. 8 actually plays)
At least Donald's kicking is (maybe) starting to come around.

I say stick by Donald for atleast four or five more rounds and if he hasnt found his fantastic radar back, then whack someone else into there. Does Callum Bruce have a good boot?
