RC,
7 out of 10....won't be for long.Soon that will be history. You can't say everytime you play the wallabies you're confident of an easy win.Robbie Deans will turn that around.....that scares me..... |

panther, I know what you're saying about the rotation and I agree but- "always come out on top of the ABs"?
Mate the Blacks have won 7 of the last 10, the Wallabies don't get it over the Blacks anymore, that seems to be one of Aussie rugby fans biggest complaints. |

mark.gibbson, you are spot on about how Lee has brought new life to the Blues.
But at his age (32) it's way too late for him to wear black. |

| I know Australia's not the best team at the moment but they always put the best team on feild no matter what...none of this rotation sh@it...thats why they always come out on top of the AB's cause they know how hard is to get a yellow jumper....unless you're Matt Dunning....he's grown into his so you can't take it off him.....lol |

| Agree with you there. Henry changed it all around so by the time the WC came along the World didn't know what was happening with the AB's, but they stuck with themselves and the AB's didn't have an idea what was going on either, thus they cracked when the pressure was on. Keep it simple ST####, hopefully Henry willdo this, if he makes it to the next WC. I know, how did i come up with that topic, sorry |

| I wish they get rid of this rotation cr@p and make the guys work for their jumpers.....Like Zizan Brooke said they have made the black jumper cheap.Everyone knows they will get a run sooner or later so they don't feel the pressure of holding onto their spots. |

| And then theres Danny Lee from the Blues. Not as good as Leonard or Ellis by any means in terms of form this season but he has been alright. A real brilliant attacker but may need another year or so to catch up with the other two. Wouldn't be surprised to see Graham Henry at least give him one trial somewhere along the line though. |

| Leonard is the main man at the moment I feel. Ellis is in a top team that makes him look really really good. yeah he is good. Cowan is in a *** team that makes him look ordinary. He is very good. Leonard is tough and knows where the line is. Every game so far he has been a stand out in an otherwise lopsided team. |

Leonard spent the perfect amount of time under Byron Kelleher at the Chiefs, he learnt how to talk and communicate really well, he kicks well from behind the ruck a Byron trait and he makes bursting runs up field.
Leonard is strided ahead of Ellis but im sure Ellis will make the All Blacks, but Leonard will be starting.

MG,
I saw them interviewing Ellis after Saders game - surely he didn't get MOM? He had a dodgy game that night.
Leonard has been improving and last night was back to his brilliant best. He'd be my pick at the moment. |

This actually makes things interesting between Leonard and Ellis for the half back position for the All Blacks later this year.
I don't believe Weepu nor Cowan have really been outstanding as these two so I have ruled them out, yes.
You'd have to say Ellis has had the edge over Leonard slightly but with last nights performance from Brendon, it was simply outstanding IMO and hopfully he can keep up his solid efforts. |

I thought Bulls did remarkably well to contain Chiefs as long as they did. A typical 'hot' Chiefs day. They were such a different team to last week.
Fat Boy Sione finally got it together, pulling off a sublime kick-chase-regather-pass to Leonard for the try of the match.
Great effort from Chiefs with an under-strength side.
What will next week look like? |

| Chiefs running hot and cold. Will win with a bonus point but still a few errors toward the end. Bulls leaking far to much as is their problem this season. |

Stop all these arguments right now. How do you think you look from our point of view? I get on here to talk seriously about rugby and all I see are insults flying back and forth. STOP IT!
Or I will tell your mum. She is cooking me breakfast at the moment but when she gets back . . . . . . .

gale - I was referring to a post that said Richie and co were the worst offenders, just making a point that Ozzies like to make them the only offenders where Smith and Waugh get penalised just as much if not more than anyone else.

I think the ELVs are a step up, however the refereeing is taking it a step down.
Inconsistency is astounding. Also, it seems the refs (including assistant refs) aren't fit enough to cope with the speed of the new game because they are missing the most fundamental things - like forward passes. Pretty soon it'll be gridiron!
The number of free kicks being given is crazy. The refs aren't stamping their authority by allowing a couple of frees, then a penalty, then a send off. a few have pinged one or two but haven't been consistent.
In summary, the players seem to be enjoying it more. The ball is certainly being thrown around more, and the mid-filed kicks make for more running of the ball.
If they can get a handle on the reffing, we've got a winner. |

Had a rare chance to watch a lot of the games over the past couple of weekends....and interested if anyone else thinks the ELVs in place currently detract from the game? Sure, it speeds it up, but at a loss of the structure that underpins the game, and whilst some make sense, the stupidity of the new tackle rule [must be behind the imaginary tackle line] was highlighted in the penalty try in the Chiefs game....what was previously great desperate cover defence has now become offside/penalty try!
Thoughts?

The Reds aye, who would've thought? But then the Blues, who would've thought?
The competition is coming into it's own. I wouldn't want to be a Waratah at the mo. That Chavanga is damn fast isn't he... |
