Stranger than fiction KOB! But I'm tipping it.
Tarantino could produce a really weird movie on that theme, eh. |

Gonna be some first for the season this weekend and I predict only one away win - Reds! Yep, Reds.
Highlanders will win their much-deserved first victory of 08
Bruumbies will actually put a stop to Chiefs this week
Force will win their first at home this year
Sharks will lose their first 08 game to Canes
Tahs will finally put a worthy win on the board this year by dismissing Blues
Reds will actually do the same as Tahs and be the only away winners.
Thing is, the only real certainty there is the Highlanders match. Shaping up as an interesting round. |

I won't forget the way the Chiefs dealt to the Crusaders at Jade stadium last year. How many other teams have achieved that? I attribute that win to Gatland's influence. The loss to the Chiefs effectively killed Canterbury's chances of winning another title. But wasn't it annoying that the Chiefs then missed out on making the semis? Why can't they put it together from the start? Chiefs haven't travelled to SA yet and they always seem to do badly over there. |

| So there's only 1 NZ team that can pull the whole thing off (again). No prizes for guessing who they are. Can Robbie Deans turn the tables for the Wallabies? As much as I admire Dean's record, I'm not sure that his success will flow seamlessly over the Tasman. There's far more to Canterbury than just Deans. As for Graham Henry's reselection and rotation policy. The rotation policy is ok and Henry and co have done a quite a good job in charge of the ABs. But why did they select Muliana at fullback? I feel they probably deserved to be rolled for that one bad decision alone. It didn't come off for them when they selected Muliana in the final game against the Boks in 2006 and yet they made the same mistake again in the World Cup. Seems Muliana was a safe, conservative choice over Toeava who is a brilliant attack weapon. Problem is he can't do that from the sidelines. Muliana is leathal at fullback and that's where he should be. Henry and co should've learnt that long ago. |

| Forget the Chiefs. They're gonnas and they were gone before the season even started. Why do we keep getting it wrong in NZ? We seem to be perpetually thick. I just can't understand why the Chiefs have persisted with Foster as coach. A couple of years back Gatland coached Waikato to victory in the Air NZ cup. Surely it was worth giving him a go as the Chiefs head coach???? Tonight I watched my team, the Hurricanes, lose to the Crusaders once again. Losing to the Crusaders has become a annual ritual under Colin Cooper. Yeah, I know Cooper has got the Canes into the semis and even a final on one occassion. But with the players the Canes have and with homeground advantage, the Canes should've been able to put the Cantabs to the sword tonight. Infact the horricanes really should be able to clean up the comp, but if they can't beat the Crusaders on home soil what chance do they have of that? It wouldn't surprise me if the Canes make the semis. Can they win the final? NO. The Highlanders are so far down, infact they're in the Antarctic. As for the Blues...They lost at home a couple of weeks back and then were lucky to win last week. Results like that would've been unheard of when the Aucks were all conquering. But it's another case of a stupid coaching selection in choosing Nucifora. The Blues would be far better with Pat Lam at the helm. Like the Hurricanes and Chiefs, Auckland is stacked with talent, yet tragically it is all being wasted with incompetent leadership. Like the Canes, the Blues stand a good chance of making the semis, but that's where the road ends for them. |

| The Force did a great impression of a farce as they got done in front of their home crowd by the Stormers. This leaves the door open for the Chiefs to get back into the comp if they can beat the Highlanders |

After watching the first two games tonight and thinking back on the season so far, there are only 5 teams in it this year. If the Sharks can't keep their form away from SA then the final 4 are decided.
The Waratahs game was void of skill and talent. Both those teams are lucky there are equally pathetic teams this year. |

Crusaders win 20-13. Dan Carter off with knee injury could be bad for him and great for every other team in the comp.
McDonald might have to line up as number 10 in a couple of weeks. |

I would hardly compare Australian Rugby to Carlton in the Ga/YFL . Besides, we've got the best coach in the world about to join, a very impressive bunch of talent coming through and most importantly we have the true beleievers like you and I Gale to fly the flag.
We will smash the K1 infidels. With, of course, a little help from the K1's! |

'Ditto' as in everyone is expecting him to work miracles - not as in failure of GH.
For anyone who watches AFL, the expectation of Judd going to Carlton fired 'em up for 3/4 of the first game. Then a horrible plummet back to earth. Takes time to rune around a juggernaut like Australian Rugby... |

<<Graham Henry loses one game in Cardiff and suddenly he's an inept fool>>
Got that right! He spent 4 years building for the WC and it ended with the biggest coaching blunder by a rugby coach ever. And I don’t mean just the game against France, it was the whole year he stuffed up. |

Hey panther,
never confident of an easy win against the Wallabies mate, I've been at too many test in Sydney this decade to think that!
The thing is, Graham Henry loses one game in Cardiff and suddenly he's an inept fool whereas, Deans has never coached at test level and he's suddenly he's going to lead the Wallabies to untold glories.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. |

panther the reason the Wallabies dont have a rotation policy is because they have practically no depth, it would be stupid for them to try, and the Wallabies always come out on top? Are you senial?
No one actually knows the rotation policy is still going on or not right now so wait until the first few tests to see what Henry's doing and then have a fit.
