Super 14 thread !!! Reply to this message
Super 14 is nearly apon us and it's about time we had some discussion. First I am going to name a few players to watch this year that will potentialy reclaim there form or players that will really make an impact and maybe claim an international position at the end of the series.

NZ.

Dan Carter. Cru
After playing f#$K all rugby last year I am expecting DC to come out and re-establish his credentials as one of the best number 10's in the world.

Ritchie McCaw. Cru
As above I expect him to find form quickly and dominate break downs and continue his incredibly high work rate.

Stephen Brett. Cru
Benefiting from DC's absence, this guy has made a real impact and I expect to see more of the same

David Smith. Blues
Incredible pace from this guy, likes the try line and performed extemely well last year. Should be a good year for him

Nick Evans. Blues
Back in Auckland, this guy has the goods to run the Blues backline and make them even more dangerous. He will be looking for a good run as he excelled last year and will hopefully contin ue to do so.

Daniel Braid. Blues
Top performer, this could be his year. He will be working hard to keep McCaw honest and will be pushing for a black jersy.

Jason Eaton. Cannes
After a great season with the Allblacks he busted his knee and didn't see much game time last year. We definitely need locks so am expecting a big year from him.

Conrad Smith. Cannes
No excuses for him, it's time to cement the number 13 spot. He has the goods and looks to be back in shape after breaking his leg. Watched him paly for the Barbarians recently and he had a very good game.

Jerry Collins. Cannes
This is an emotional pick, I am a big fan. I hope he has another big year in him but we will see. I still love to see his bone jarring tackles (ask Chabal)and still live in hope that his heart is still in it for international rugby.
