Ado,
Nothing much in it, they have a 21 year old (Tilse)almost the same height and weight as Hayman. It's more of a call for the future. Props just don't become great props because of there size and weight, it takes experience, coaching and commitment to achieve Carl Hayman status. So at 21 he has a long way to go. |

Personally I think the Tahs will do better than last year but struggle to make the finals. There will be troubling signs for the Tahs by week 5, which is a bye for them. After having one narrow win over the Highlanders and 3 loses to the Canes, Cheifs and ACT, they get a week to refocus before the Crusaders. At this point McKenzie will be on our TVs, with his stupid bucket hat on, telling us all how they still can make the finals.
The Crusaders on the other hand will wipe all aside this year and beat the Chiefs in the final by a couple of tries. |

The Tah's allways talk it up before pre-season!! We have this & that, blah blah blah, too much talk, then when it's time to deliver, they crumble, lets just wait & see what 08 has installed for the Tahs...... |

I could not think of a worse job than following Deans at the Crusaders.
Whoever it is will be run out of town if they fail to make the semi finals in 2009.
And if they do make the semis or win the title, they'll get little credit as everyone will be saying;
"Of course it was Robbie who set the winning culture up, so really this was expected."
As an Aucklander, I would be absolutely sick if Pat Lam got the Crusaders job whilst the Blues suffer under Nucifora.
That would be unjust. |

Hammett, who is the team's assistant coach told Sunday News last night that he's ready to take the step up and continue Robbie Deans' legacy at the franchise.
Others likely to be in the running for one of the most prized jobs in world rugby are Tasman coach Todd Blackadder, Auckland boss Pat Lam and Canterbury coach Rob Penney.
Also in the hunt could be Aussie McLean, Vern Cotter, John Plumtree and Wayne Pivac. But Hammett has got the jump on all of them by setting out his sail before the 2008 season has even got underway.
"I couldn't express how keen I am, to be quite honest," Hammett said.
"I'm very, very keen, I know I'm ready and that I can actually improve not just on the great success, but also the culture which is part of the reason we've been so successful.
"I'm certainly going to put my hand up and a decision will be made at the time and whatever that is, it will be right."
Last month Deans told Sunday News that part of his thinking as he moved onto the Wallabies job was he didn't want to stand in the way of Hammett's coaching aspirations.
"I see Mark as a potential replacement and I see that as one of my motivations in terms of moving on and seeking a new challenge," Deans said at the time.
Meanwhile, Hammett says there won't be any reversing of roles between him and Robbie Deans in the 2008 Super 14 season. |
