True story, Sprout.
I suppose he's more entertaining than our loser lawyer-cum-poet-cum-comme ntator Rupert Whatshisname from the RWC telecast last year. Now HE was BAD. |

| Gale, I actually find Murry quite funny.I know he is a bit biased but so are the Aussie commentators and the S/Africans are right up there also |

Gabe,
interesting comments.
I don't think you can compare linebreaks between the 15-a-side & 13-a-side game for that reasons. The extra 2 men make a big difference to how the game is played, and how breaks are made. By default, you would have to assume 2 things: -
1. With 2 extra players on the field, it is 15% harder to make a line break in Union than League
2. You require extra skill (not necessarily talent) to actually then make the breaks.
Agree with you about Mexted. He's an aberration: most Kiwi commentators are fair, informed and sensible. |

Gracious RC I'm going to agree with you thought that the Tahs ploayed well in first game against Tahs, got unsttled by Chiefs in the second but still played good game at end, could very well be there season, GK you will be happy with Saders at this stage, thought Reds were robbed against Canes some dodgy calls but they got them the week b4 so I guess it was a square up...Thought Tahu is learning the ropes a bit slower than would have thought however is starting to make strides, both him and Schifcofske did well when running down players in the tackle both saved trys from happening. Only negative to the whole S14 games was Mexted, "That Schifcofske is a good player, so why was he playing League?" Well Murray maybe thats where he learned his skills, off you go Muzza if you hurry you can listen to another Plumley Walker getting walloped while you do a little BDSM!!! Wally!
Anyways new rules are interesting to watch from a Leaguie Inbreedie perspective, faster but players still getting used to the faster pace(apart from Saders who seem to have got it) Space around the Scrum base is an area where they will start making good breaks, scrums still slowing down game with refs being a bit over zealous...Ball in play a lot more...it will be interesting to see the standard of line breaks between say the Sader's and the Bronco's.
Both teams(within there own rules playing very similar game plans) I think that the teams that will struggle will be the South African teams and the Chiefs...Chiefs forwards looked tired and went about there biz slowing the game down...I think the two East Coast Oz sides will suit the new rules Force havn't caught a game yet...Looking forward to catching replays of the S14 games next week...Still waiting for the NRL to start.
Catch you gents next week. |

| Freddy you didn't mention Beale's invisible tackling technique. The rest can be put down to having a bad day, but a 10 that can't tackle is going to leave some big holes around the fringes all season. |

Just because the Tahs are paranoid, doesn't mean everyone's not out to get them....
Seriously, they can feel a bit hard done by. I read in the paper this morning they were made to watch the video of the game on the bus ride to Auckland the same night.
Three blokes in particular would be more responsible for the loss than the ref. Jacobs' rotten passes to unmarked wingers, Beale's place-kicking, and Harris kicking out on the full in the 79th minute. Those blokes would have all been fighting to lock themselves in the dunny up the back of the bus rather than watch that game again. |

My god you Waratahs are very bitter arnt you.
You lost that game cause you cant kick a ball, you cant win any ball in the rucks and you couldnt break the Chiefs defence inside the 22.

| Agree. those "assistants" assited the cheifs to win that game, and the ref was worse.I don't think the cheifs will be anywere near the top of the table this year.Gibbs is also overrated and unfit |

Actually the Tahs made a couple of mistakes and gave the game to the Chiefs.
Between incompetent Jarpie refing and a cheating K1 touch judge should have been the tahs by 10 at least.
Chiefs will end up in the bottom half of the ladder. Nothing surer. |

The tahs listen to the media and big note themselves. They're the favourites, look what happened. Don't listen to the *** s. Chiefs made a couple of mistakes to let the Tahs back into the game . They could've losst by alot more.
It's the start, we must remember, BRING IT ON!!! CHIEFS!!! |

| The problems with the Tahs is that they all try to be the hero rather than playing as a unit and becoming 1 as a team. |

| Yeah, but you have to excuse Tom Carter who is an outside center playing inside who had no options or wasn't given any....think beale tried to run a bit too much with the ball instead of trying to recycle the ball using the forwards and his inside backs. They were trying to score off every phase and the game got rather predictable and easier to defend against |

Put the Tahs under a bit of pressure and they will break, they put themselves under more pressure if you start it.

| Ok, I'll wear the Jacobs call. Touche. But can they please start with Harris next week at 12. And can some one take Beale out to a game today somewhere in NZ and show him what a tackle is. |

| Actually they are not creating any space for Tahu...Beale cut two guys and he had the line and two defenders...fair enough hes strong but hes not a battering ram....except that pass jacobs threw , tahu should of stayed on the wing instaed of coming in...but i'm sure there wasn't any communication for that to go astray |

PANTHER: good was that drive over the ruck by the chiefs...the tahs did'nt see that coming.
The chiefs did will in recycling the ball and did you see the amount of chief players who jumped in to help there team mate causing 10 to 15meter mauls.
I sat next to 2 Aussie fellas and they could not get over how good the chiefs were at the break down and how well they came in as a unit to help.
You gota give it to the Tahs though, they look like a very dangerous outfit this year as long as they can get there combinations right.......
My wifes cuzzy (Timana) is looking abit lost on the wings ATM, hopefully he will get the hang of things & come around...

| Yeah Brett Shehans...not bad ...but his main problem is his temper.he tends to throw a punch now and again when he gets frustrated but IMO he did great tonight.I actually thought the tahs did play well tonight but just lapses in the game cost them.. |
