C'mon now Ado, Campo was fast. Particularly in his step when he darted through defences at top flight...
Numbers? I agree, who cares...
In my opinion Habana is currently the most respected 'speed winger'. But there are many other important factors i.e. vision, skill, kicking game, defence etc that makes up a winger's game. Speed is far from everything.
PS apologise for keeping the thread going |

How about this Jimmy. The two best wingers in the last 40 years were D. Campese and J.Lomu. Neither were super fast, but both would run rings around and in Jonah's case, over any player mentioned on this thread.
Conclusion: Speed ain't everything.
Can we all go home now and put this to bed. |

At last someone with sense , how can a 15 stone man with no olympic training get this close to the New Zealand 100m record.
Just one point , if Dwain Chambers does play for Castleford first team then it is all over he has run 9.87 for the 100m and was second in this years WORLD indoor championship.
Both these events were on TV so there is no disbute as to hand timing etc. |

Fastest man in rugby?
Dwaine Chambers is playing RL for Castleford in England, he is the former GB sprinter and has gone sub 10 sec. |

BLEDISLOE
i'd say it is 10.66sec when it is really 10.17/or 10.3 from Zar's point of view so who's right BLEDISLOE you or me.
Na neither because Blaze is right. As he says done on track with spikes he does 10.17sec,Done on the field he averages around now 10.3sec,and done back in 2003 where Joe at the end of his sprint is interviewed said that was a poor performance in 10.66sec and said when he did 10.17sec on track he knew why it was not recorded.Because it had nothing to do with the AB's training he just did it to get back into form in end of 2005 after the lions tour.Because 2006 he said that he was going to play again for the NZ 7's.And what sad is Joe Rokocoko's name should #1 worlds fastest rugby player ever. |

Kiwis own Bledisloe
What do you mean that blaze is full of it I think that he is telling the truth just because it was record on a stop watch at 10.17sec by the NZ 7's coach.I know sevens wing Zar Lawrence and he told me that in the sprints trainings when Joe played for them in 2006 he said that Joe *** s around the 10.3's.For Lawrence himself who told me he is capable of being timed in between 10.6-10.7.And says when they did play together when it comes to speed he's got nothing on Joe. |

| By the looks all your 100m times are correct but the quickest 40m time would be Soseni Anesi 10.53sec then Joe Rokocoko 10.66sec. |

Joe wasn't even in full pace from the start i'd bet you if Joe and Howlett were in the same position Joe would have seen Doug going hard out and Joe does not like no one ahead of him.
As for Josh Lewsey i'd seen the clip on Youtube and you've got to be kidding me of you have a good look Joe steps towards Lewseys angle and that is what gives Lewsey a chance for joe simple stuff he just full paced it other than Joe had to catch his speed again. |

JONARIM
That some guy was Gordon Tijens NZ Sevens coach.Rokocoko was timed electronically but there were 2 differences.1 done on field in boots 10.66sec also timed for 40m in the same run 4.66,and 1 done on track in spikes 10.17 but NZ Rugby association doesn't really care and so does Joe he's just glad he's playing rugby. When Rokocoko was (17) and was still going to school Saint Kentergens don't know if your heard of that it he set a Auckland secondary schools record with a time of 10.55sec and has not been broken since. Also Rico Gears former student at east coasts Gisborne Boys high yet to also be broken 10.63sec now does it in 10.51sec |
