It's been very obvious in the last few games that the Tigers simply aren't good enough. When we play the bottom eight sides we appear to ooze with confidence but when we play any top eight sides all our improvement from previous weeks seems to get thrown out the window. Why? who knows but the football department has to have a long hard look at the current Tigers list. The list consists of far to many younger players treading water at Coburg, some show potential and others don't, as these players have age on their side maybe some should be traded for tried key position players who don't get pushed off the ball easily. The Tigers are very lightly built compared to most opponents, last week the Cats being 5 kg's per player heavier physically smashed the Tigers. Today was the nail in the coffin as far as I was concerned, ok the Crows in Adelaide has never been a happy hunting ground for the Tigers but the Tigers went into the game only 6 premiership points behind the Crows but got smashed again. It may be worth noting that the Tigers have kicked 3 goals or less in 24 out of 40 quarters from their last 10 matches. For the Tigers to be considered a final 8
side there's heaps of work to be done in the gym and countless hours trying to recruit the types required to at least be a worthy opposition when the Tigers have their backs to the wall against top sides, capitulation has never been accepted at Tigerland so why should it be now. The Crows have defeated the Tigers by a combined total of 113 pts in their 2 encounters this year. Whilst the Crows should play finals football theres a fair chance thet they will be one of the first sides eliminated, so where does that leave the Tigers. |
