In his 2 appearances for the Tigers Thomson looked ok without being a standout, certainly he did enough to be retained considering his age and fitness. Given an injury free pre season Thomson could become a very good player for the Tigers, after all he was a 1st round pick 11 for Port Adelaide in 2004 in what was considered to be one of the strongest drafts ever.

I must admit richo12-12 that losing Richo,Brown, Johnson,Pettifer,Coughlan and Raines through severe injuries hasnt helped the Tigers at all and Simmonds always seems to have a setback whether it be an injury or an illness. I'd keep Bowden, Wallace played him out of position, he simply cant man up. In his younger days Bowden looked like a very promising forward who had pace and had was booming kick for goal. I'll never know why Rawlings dropped him to Coburg instead of trying him out closer to goal.

Got your wish chokdee, Bowden, Brown, Johnson, Pettifer, Coughlan, Simmonds, Raines all gone there is more dead wood there but you cant de-list a whole team.

Tigers could also do with a established Forward, riewoldt & morton are too inconsistent for my liking

Re:Where Do the Tigers Really Stand. Reply to this message
Season 2009 was very disappointing after what the Tigers showed over the last half of season 2008, let's not forget they were the last side to beat the Hawks and late in the season and of course a few weeks later the Hawks went on to win the premiership. What went wrong, who knows but obviously the Wallace saga didn't help nor did Rawlings blurting to the press about the losing culture at the Tigers, especially when the side he was referring to had 16 players who'd played less than 50 games each, things such as that should be kept in house. Taking a look at the Tigers list this year they got limited use out of the following players:
Richo,Bowden,Brown,Johnso n,Pettifer, Coughlan,Simmonds,Foley,S chulz,Pattison,Raines, Polak and Cotchin. Some of these players have retired and others will be delisted for sure. The Tigers need a big tall ruckman and a tall key defender and need to use their early first round draft pick wisely to supplement the young talent that the Tigers already posess. It's not all doom and gloom and with a positive approach the Tigers can look forward to a reasonable 2010, a top 10 finish would be a great start for Hardwick and give him a solid base to work on.

Richmond are in good stead, maybe not for next year or the next, but with the young players they have got, it's all good, we saw signs of the re-ammergance of them this year, they have to gel as a club, some of the more experienced players need to start pulling there weight or get delisted, i have every faith in the club, they will get back to where they once were, they really haven't been that far off, just a few dodgy games have messed them up, all i can say is keep the faith, go RICHMOND go do your best is all any supporter should want,

Dick Smith is a sponsor, but they are not a major sponsor, never the less we should be happy with there contribution to the RFC, so lets hope we can secure a major sponsor before the new season starts....cheers and merry christmas

Re:Where Do the Tigers Really Stand. Reply to this message
richardson , symonds , johnson and bowden have to be replaced before the tigers improve so theres a downside over the next 2 years , hate to say it for tiger fans but its going to be same old , same old tigers in 2009 .
