| Port need a hard nut, a real one, to release Burgoyne so he can go damage the opposition. Cornes has to go back to CHB because the midfield experiment has failed. Neither he or his brother looked after the skilled players like Burgoyne and Pearce and thats what Carr can do, as he, Hardwick and Pickett did previously. |

the only reason josh came to freo was so he could play on the same team as his brother matthew. unfortunatly the last year freo lost haselby and headland (most es people don't realise how important that was) and josh was used in a role that didn't suit him.
at port he can resume that role with the midfield they have.
freo has good picks so port will give a young homesick player for josh and get a third/fourth round pick too.
melbourne will go all out to get warnock so priority pick and third round pick for him and mundy/murphy most likely murphy |

As far as im concerned if Port dont wish to acquire carr, then why the hell offer players like burgoyne, lade and tredrea new contracts? carr maybe past his prime but surely if they wish to hang on to various other players of the same area and winning team, i would acquire carr for the fact that wilson retired this year and i would say carr has 2 seasons left. he didnt fit into fremantle that well based on the problems at that club and they didnt utilise him the way port did. after the season Port has had, and the youth in midfield, carr would be an ideal player for a few season to groom younger players with the hard approach he has in the middle. port needs some guts and heart back in the club cos as far as im concerned, theyve gone soft. williams doesnt make the decisions on who comes to the club. he has stated that he isnt that interested, but if the board were to work out a way off getting him without using a draft pick, then im sure port would accomadate. if the guy wants to leave his club, then he can nominate for the draft and port could get him if the player states he wants to go there. they could do a deal with another club. there are certain players at port adelaide that arent happy and want to leave, so port does have some trump cards up its sleave. i still think they are trying to get hold of didak. if him and shaw dont play finals, why would u want to stay at a club that should of played you in the finals giving the fans and club a better chance of success and winning. collingwood aint got a clue. they should have suspended them for the season meaning round 22. no didak or shaw in the finals does make their task harder if u ask me.
ports defence isnt a major problem. just remember cornes had many probs and wilson was injured. they should acquire an experienced player who gee...might be around the 26 -28 mark. if they were smart down at alberton they would be offering up a few players like lonie and some young players who havent performed over the y ... |

| Freo pick three and Port pick four in the pre-season draft. Port will definitely have to play to get Carr, if they want him. He may end up in the WAFL if he's not careful. |

I'd hate to see Port give up draft picks or a young player for Carr. He didn't want to play here before, he's past his best and is injury prone. If they get him for nothing in the pre-season draft, OK, but otherwise no thanks.
However, I can't believe Carr would come out and say this unless he'd received an undertaking from Port. As is happening more and more often these days, Choco has made himself look like a tool by saying a few weeks ago how keen he'd be to get Carr back, now saying he's too old and doesn't fit they way Port's going. Who does he think he's kidding? |

Well we already have a good midfield. Why would we need him? He decided to run after he'd won his premiership with us so why do we owe Carr any special favours? He could be good for the leadership group though.
What we really need is defenders although our defense did get slightly better towards the end of the year.
Aside from that Choko might change his mind. The big question is what would Freo want for him that we are willing to give up? |

| Just heard on radio, Carr wants to be traded back to Port. Williams had the luxury of saying: Josh is 28, bit old for our team now. Wow, you arrogant man. Like the Power has gone that well this year with the cattle you have! My sister is a full on Power supporter but hates Williams as a coach, with that attitude of his, any wonder. |
