| Crows flooded all game so there's no difference there. I agree - Port needed to keep the attack up. all they were doing was allowing Adelaide more time to recover. |

| Supposedly they did it because the Crows had flooded back in numbers and Port didn't want to turn the ball over. A cop out in my opinion, it's like saying "the opposition have numbers back so we can't possibly score, let's not even try!" What's wrong with sending more of their own players down there to even up the numbers? It might be crowded but better than stuffing around back and forth across the centre line and eventually turning it over anyway. |

| burgoyne boys,pearce,rodan-that spells pace to burn-let loose they will carve up most teams, let em off the leash, and can anybody explain why with nearly 2 minutes left in 1st and 2nd quarters port hold the footy above the heads and slow right down and dont even try and score-its not as if they were up by 5 goals,to win footy games you have to score-YOU HAVE TO SCORE.even i know that.looking back now a goal in the last minute of those quarters would of been handy, mmmmm real handy. |

I'd love to see them keeping a tall forward and a couple of crumbers close to goal more often and banging it down to them as quickly as possible. So often they carry the ball forward, then hestitate, stop, mess around, by which time the forward line is hopelessly disorg@nised.
I wonder if Chad Cornes will ever end up back at CHB. I like the idea, and maybe move Pettigrew to be another forward target. As I've said, I think it's ridiculous expecting Westhoff to be a key position player. |

He's probably telling them posession play is key. Pinpoint when you can and go to a contest when you have to with confidence your boys will win it.
One for one I'd back most Port players for skill levels against any others in the competition yet they don't seem to have the same confidence. |

It's not rocket science, is it? This business of never kicking to a contest and trying to pinpoint everything has dogged them for years. Every time a team makes it tough for them they revert to this rubbish and serve up the worst football imaginable.
Sometimes I wonder what the players are being told at training. I can't believe Mark Williams is giving those kind of instructions but why does it keep happening? |

What ever happened to Port having the confidence to kick to contests? We used to have the best crumbers around when we won the flag. And there was the fast play of last year.
If there are no easy options (players on their own) then go to a contest. That way if there is a ball up its 30-50 m closer to goal. Our set shots are terrible and it seems we kick goals better under pressure so why not go with it? If the opposition think they have us worked out maybe a change in strategy is in order? |

A lift in intensity yesterday (as you would hope), but Port just aren't playing well enough. They had every chance in the showdown but just couldn't put any decent play together. They get nothing from their ruck dominance, general skill level is down and the delivery to the forward line is abysmal. Where is the fast football? They're so easily derailed by a hard working opposition, it's frustrating to watch.
One thing I can't understand is why they insist on playing Westhoff as a key forward when he doesn't have the strength or presence. He should only ever be the third tall.
Brisbane are no worldbeaters, but if Port lose this week their season is just about shot. |

| No one will underestimates anymore if you lose next week it will be hard to make the top4 and the defence was a bit better this week crows were down to 19 men but so we could say the score mite have been larger |

Well we made a game of it. If we were more accurate we could have won it though.
For once I thought our defence did a half decent job. It was also nice to see Port playing tough footy.
Given the way teams are playing we've got a relatively tough draw to start the season with. The aim now would be to win the next 3 to make amends but getting over the 0-3 hurdle will be difficult.
It can also work for us - if a team underestimates us it could be the opening we need. |

| Well important game this week for the power cross twon battle with the crows anyones game but the power fowards will have to work alot harder than last week and the defence will have to aleast try to stop the crows and they could pullit out good luck but if the crows kick more than 110 points i will still bag the defence of the power |
