| It'll be interesting to see who they take in the pre-season and rookie drafts now. | I'm still not sold on Carlyle but he might come good. Thurstans has proved he has what it takes and Chaplin is getting there too. Thing is thats 3 players and if 1-2 get injured we're stuffed. It seems everything is being thrown into offense and we will have no depth in defense. As you said before though the hard ball getters are needed and unless some of the guys bulk up and grow balls of steel it won't happen. |

| I thought they'd go for defenders myself. With wakelin gone there's a massive hole in our already terrible defense. Who knows though - maybe some of these attacking forwards can be converted into attacking defenders so we can run the ball from defense well like Geelong did most of 2007. |

| Port seem to be obsessed with quick, slightly built players when their most glaring deficiency is probably tough hard ballgetters. Surely they've got enough of the former, and Westhoff...it's a bit hard to imagine both of them in the same side.
