Just heard on KG and Cornes that it is Symes.
Not played since round 7.
Trust the coaches know best. |

Symes or Lonie?
Who is the best bet to be included, and why?
Know of Lonie's long kick. That could be handy.
But is he hard enough at it for a GF?
Who has been up their with SANFL form? |

Port's power (pardon the pun) is definately in the midfield and forwards. No team is perfect and our defense is below par.
You can win games two ways though - by constricting like Adelaide with heavy defense or by attacking and kicking goals like Port.
While finals have traditionally been a real arm wrestle favouring the defensive teams Port have proven this year that a fast attacking style can win finals. |

Well, lets say that I am bloody pleased with the work of our forwards and midfield that they are good enough to get, and then use, their possessions as well as they do so as not to let the ball get down into defence more than they do :-p
In any event....GO THE POWER!!!!!!! |

I agree midfield and forwards have been great.
But your choice of words "defence not on a par with the rest of the finalists" is pure frogsh_it |

| Fatsy...c´mon mate, it is the midfield and forwards that got us to second, and now the GF, this year. It wasn´t the defence mate. I´m not saying they don´t try hard but that is not where our games are won. |

Grasping at straws? It's a fact - Port are not one of the better teams defensively. Even the Kangaroos had a lot of easy shots at goal on Saturday, luckily for us they couldn't hit the side of a barn.
Who should replace Wilson for the GF - Lower, Lonie, Bentley, Thomas? |

C/mon Port adelaide1870. Your not going to start pouring rubbish on our defence again are you.
I have no idea where your coming from.
Chaplin has been rock solid and Pettigrew's run out of defence is excellent. As for the rest of defence, it's made up of much of our excellent onballers.
Its grasping at straws to say 10th in points against is representative of how the defence has fared. |

| Absolute champion who will be missed greatly next week. One of the toughest blokes to step on a footy field. Never gave up, very rarely beaten. Will be surprised if he keeps going next year, as his body has been smashed over his career, although if he does hang up the boots at least he will leave the club in a pretty healthy state. |

A gutsy defender and many a fine game by this true Port Adelaide born and bred player.
Just to sum up his major injuries...from the AFL site...´The 30-year-old already has two knee and two shoulder reconstructions to his name and is facing another six months on the sideline with this latest setback´.
There is a huge chance he will call it quits this week. I´d like to see him go around again but perhaps the body can´t hack it anymore. Wilson and Wakelin to both bow out this year? Its possible. That will hurt our defence over the coming years which is NOT on a par with the other finalists of this season (I think we ranked 10th in defence this season during Home and Away). |

Seriously, that's one of the most painful things that can happen to you on the field, if not THE most painful.
As much as I love watching him play, maybe it's time to hang up the boots. His injury spurred the team on in the third, announcing his retirement before the GF might get them over the line. And let's face it, he's earned time off. |
