Exactly Sushi. And this morning we had someone complaining about not enough athletics. Why not show some during the basketball that was never going to be a close game. Actually the Handball between Denmark and Croatia was better viewing.

Ummm. Firstly Ch7 doesn't dictate how many innings the softball took.

Secondly, what?

Channel 7 did a great telecast last night. Could not have been better. Could you imagine the farkwits in here this morning complaining if they didn't show the softball in its entirety. The softball was edge of the seat stuff, where we all knew that the basketball wasn't going to be. Well Done channel 7. You got it right this time!

Well, I accept that basketball was started right after softball game, especially that softball game couldn’t be finished within 9innes, (they couldn’t finish until 13th innes)
But there’d be some problems in there,
1) some viewers confirmed that softball game should be finished 10 mins before TV broadcasting.
2) why do they put ads in 3rd quarter during the game? Also put 800 metre semis/heat (sorry I forget about it) and cut the first 2mins in 3rd quarter.
3) what’d be happened for 1st quarter? No one knows. I would suggest they just said sorry for delaying coverage, (which is understandable) then broadcasting first quarter, and second quarter. Using the time for Half Time break in basketball game to take back to live action in 2nd half.

The ignorance label better suits people who bandy it around without logical thought Crackers. And yes, while I did watch the basketball I was more than happy to watch the softball. As a sporting spectacle it was much better than the basketball.

My biggest concern was that they were going to cross to Mottrem in the 5000m during the final quarter of the b/ball. To their credit, 7 stuck with the rest of the telecast.

well, a lot of people were watching basketball game last night
if Australian are not interested to watch basketball games
SBS and Channel 7 won't broadcast all 4 quarter final games.

Re:worst coverage ever of any olympics Reply to this message
the coverage of the Basketball last night, after they had promoted it all week, was completely butchered.

absolutely disgraceful. i think we only saw about half of the game here.

i cannot imagine how channel 7 could've done a worse job covering these games.

Re:worst coverage ever of any olympics Reply to this message
the coverage full stop has been terible I've barely seen any athletics theres live action on and they show events that aren't even live! channel 7's repsonse apauling saying they welcome feedback! be good if they actually did something about it! we are there customers they should be apealing to us I haven't met one person yet who has said that they think the coverage has been good! I keep up to date via the web now I've given up watching 7! lets just hope they don't get London!

Looking at that list in more detail, it's not just BBC, but what's available to the UK viewers...
Satellite, Cable, High Def, damn... choices! Sport, SPORT, would'ya believe it, they're actually getting choices of sport.

One can only hope that 9+FOX=A good deal for Australia in '12.

Just look at the schedule here... http://www.livesportontv.com/

This is how the BBC are bringing the Olympics to their viewers.

Keep aiming low, 7, the "lowest common denominator" viewers will lap up whatever turds you guys dish out.

<<i've never seen any coverage of Tennis at any Olympics. says it all, its the first sport that should be removed.>>

It was on SBS Nadal vs Gonzalez. Couldn't care less if it was Olympics or not. RAFAEL NADAL. Nuff said. Some people actually want to see the world's best at work.

All I can say is that given they are advertising the SA v Australia match 24 hours before it is to be played they better show the whole damn lot LIVE.

Actually...not such a bad thing if 7 considers tennis as a dud sport...they'd probably *beep* it up anyway. So thank God for sbs being able to show that!
