I've been jumping up and down wanting to get up a mega-petition to Jaques Rogge at the I.O.C. with regard to Ch7's shambolic "coverage." Maybe it's not too late for them to place some TV-audience-friendly stipulations on Ch9 for the London event.
Remember folks, we're dealing with media corporates with insatiable appetites for the filthy lucre here, and who says Ch9 et al will be any different from the 7 sneaks? |

| If they're going to show events that happened yesterday you'd think they could atleast air one of the many events that they neglected yesterday. About 20 gold medals were decided yesterday, they showed about 7 of them. |

| The answer to that is to turn the TV off and turn the radio on. If the programs are no good on TV, give it the bird. |

How can they sit there, knowing full well that an event is already over, yet they continue to tell us it is live?
Ummmm have you ever heard of a director? |

I hope Matt White, Sandy Roberts and Griggs choke on their dim sims when they greet the viewers with their patronising hollywood smiles each time we come back from ad breaks. How can they sit there, knowing full well that an event is already over, yet they continue to tell us it is live?
One of the greatest results ever for Australia in the field events and they can't even show it live.
They strung out the diving for 4 hours, showed countless replays of the relay finals where no Aussies took part, had montage after montage and "general interest" segments, 3 minute ad breaks every 5 minutes and forced us to stay up until early morning to see some bl00dy pole vaulting.
Unforgiveable. |

The corporate burglars at 7 have turned OUR Olympics into a reality TV suck-fest.
It's about the sport dimwitz. Doncha just chunder when they include footage of events we've never seen in their schmaltzy montages?
My disgust and outrage know no bounds. |

| Even worse in Tasmania. Today rather than stick with the poorest Olympic coverage ever, 7 decides to screen 6 hours of AFL. To make matters worse, they screen it on both Souther Cros TV and Tasmanian Digital TV at the same time. Guess they just wanted to rub it in. |

Surely one of the great appeals of watching sport is seeing the drama unfold as it happens and knowing you are sharing that experience with millions of others around the world.
Seven have absolutely ruined that experience for all Australian fans. It is not the same when you get fed up some lifestyle-designer type broadcast full of patronising attitudes that insult the viewers intelligence. |

| Lets face facts... Channel 7 didn't rate Steve Hooker a chance in the Pole Vault. His gold medalling winning form caught them by suprise and they had to place in so many ads while the were cutting the footage together. I am sure they were hoping to put together a short summary segment later in the night. They were also very careful to cut out any visual reference to the 100m mens relay which was finishing up in the background which they had showed previously (like a Back to the Future movie). If only they stayed at the Pole Vault and showed it live they would have been able to cover the greatest moment in men's athletics for Australia since 1968 or in Channel 7 language a SPECIAL BRUCE moment. Then they stuffed up again because they didn't think Steve Hooker would break the olympic record either.. he did. Two-faced Channel 7 will now be Steven's best mate with gushy interviews and a spot on the poxy Yum Cha program. I wonder whether they will have time to add him into their minute montages they have been thrashing out every five minutes. Thank goodness for the NEWS.COM.AU website which has live barracking with journalists called "Beijing Now' who are actually at the olympics who have the finger on the pulse on what the sports viewing public wants to know. |

Well done ch7! An Australian just won a gold medal and we did not see one second of it live. I'm surprised you haven't held it over for Yum Cha.
Pathetic |

And now more flaggellating over Bolt in favour of showing some live action.
Though we did get to see 3 pole vaults before they broke to more ads. |

And now some g0d awful song overlaying more slo-mo montages of NOTHING that is relevant.
Unbelievable.
They've managed to update us to round 4 of the diving prelims, but in reality, they finished ages ago.
For those interested, Mitcham finished 2nd and Helm finished 5th. |

WOW, here there is 1420 replies about channel 7's woeful Olympics coverage! And I thought there was a lot in the TV General Discussion board.
The discontent is rampant. The last time things got this bad for blessed rulers, some-one invented the guillotine. |
