No need now, fair play for Fearnley for getting the protest withdrawn.

well , you could argue that if the aussie was in 7..where he was suppose to be..he may have been able to to cover the englishmen from the start because the englishman started in lane 5 or 6..if im correct..he could be still even when the lanes broke and taken the outside position .. But if the englishman is that confident with his win..Then he will have no trouble winning again on tuesday when they start from there rightful positions!!

In 200m & 400m the whole race is raced in your alotted lane so athletes genarally prefer outer lanes as bends are more gradual. However once you get past 400m races are contested in the inside lane for the majority so why should it matter what lane you are in. Besides if Fearnley is that good why didn't he get into the lead when they broke lanes.

Although i agree that David Wier won that race and i do think that we should except the result and get on with it..You asked the question "it was 800m, not 200m so what does the lane matter, they all have to push the same distance." They may push the same distance but the start in a 800m race is critical..you can get boxed in very easily ..and in a wheelchair you cant just move out in the other lane if you boxed in..as we saw..the aussie had to coast behind the englishman in the final straight cause he was boxed in!!And really, comparing the 200 to the 800 is no comparison..you dont change lanes in the 200.. But then again, if the officals had done there job right in the first place..There would be no way that anyone could protest the race in the first place!!

Aussies winge and get re-run. Reply to this message
So the poor Australian guy in the 800m wheelchair race decided that he didn't like his lane after he only came 2nd. So what if he was supposed to be in lane 7, it was 800m, not 200m so what does the lane matter, they all have to push the same distance. So David Weir who won the race fair and square will have to come back a kick the Aussies ass again on Tuesday. Poor show Australia, learn to lose graciously,
