Re:ara abrahamian Reply to this message
Now, if Abrahamian and his team were true sportmen, instead of bringing a charge against the judges saying "It's all politics" and giving origin to a ridiculous comedy, they would have accepted the medal, like any other athlete, and subsequently lodged a protest. Abrahamian acted childish but he is not a kid. He is 33 y.o.

Re:ara abrahamian Reply to this message
About the plot, it was invented by Abrahamian because of his rage. Abrahamian won his silver during the Olympic Games of Athens. It was 4 years ago. A lot time ago. He was younger and stronger. If we consider his most recent competitions before Beijing, we don't see a world champion. We see a different wrestler. After the silver of Athens, in the period included between 2004 and 2007 Abrahamian won nothing. I repeat, no prize. In 2008 he conquered just one medal in the European championships of Finland. It was not gold or silver. It was a bronze. During that competition the italian Minguzzi took a 3rd place like him. But Abrahamian wrestled in Finland and many referees were Scandinavian like him. (Can we suppose that Abrahamian was helped by the local referee or judges, that he took his bronze because of corruption? As I wrote, from 2004 up to 2008 Abrahamian showed of being nobody in wrestling.) In addition, Minguzzi, who won another bronze in the European Championships of Bulgaria in 2007, in Beijing defeated the russian Mishin, world champion in 2007 and gold medals in Athens. Mishin was by all means the most favored wrestler in this weight class up 84 kgs. (Abrahamian was beaten by Mishin in 2004.) So, considering the recent triumphs of both athletes, we can affirm that Minguzzi is a true champion, that he deserved that gold. There was no corruption, as Swedish journalists wrote, and the IOC will ascertain if the referee's decision was right or wrong.

About Abrahamian behavior. According to the IOC: "in front of the Disciplinary Commission, the Athlete expressed serious unsubstantiated allegations against FILA and its President" (..) "The Athlete had already undergone serious problems with judging errors at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, pointing out that he lost the gold medal rather than won the silver medal". (In 2004 Abrahamian protested against Mishin and the referee. In 2008 he repeats the same comedy in Beijing.) Now, if Abrahamian and his team were t ...

Re:ara abrahamian Reply to this message
He did not get a fair game in the semi final. An Italian within FILA chose a Swiss with Italian roots as one of the referees. According to other web sites the referee is also cousin with the head of FILA who is Italian. There were several obvious mistakes in the game. The worst at the end of the second round. Ara was awarded a point but this was removed and given to the Italian. The referees refused to watch the video review. The video shows the first call was clearly the right one.

Re:ara abrahamian Reply to this message
nay I just checked, the judge was a canandian. he finished with a silver in Athens and was a hot fav to win, so its probably because he was too disappointed, but again that doesn't make sense if he was so pissed off he would just have quited right after losing in semi final, why bother to went into a bout to win a medal then throw it away?
