See in the Tele today that a 200K GT was taken by the cops??
I looked at the pic in the paper and the report said a Blue one.I only saw the white one at first, then on the right was a Blue GT.

Tonmy,Tommy,Tommy...tsk tsk tsk
I know what youre trying to say about leverage with a short rod......
It just doesnt rate in a decision of rod types anymore.
You give 1 sole reason on why a shorter rod is better....ONE......
When weighing up the pros and cons there are a hundred more reasons to get a 8 or 9 foot rod rather than a broomstick.
The increased uses of the larger rod,the ability od swapping reels to the fish and conditions, the better control over a fast moving surface fish, the ability to fight larger fish with minimal effort.
There are heaps more reasons to get a 8 foot medium weight rod over the shorter heavier rod.
Doc wants a rod and reel combo for a Reef Charter.
He then does what????Leaves it there for another charter trip???
Get the medium rod,get 2 or 3 reels that will go with it.
Then you have a decent Reef and smaller rod to use 7 days a week.
Its better value and will allow for a quick reel change to convert it into a handy casting rod for surface action. |

The longer rods help play a fish around the boat, also help you lift it out of the water.
Gone are the days a fisho uses a 3 foot broom stick.
Ya old f@rt
Reread what I wrote Pete,,and see if you can argue with Physics,,"Pete,,The shorter the rod,,to more leverage YOU have to lift a fish..
The line recovered per degree/arc of movement,,is greater with a longer rod.."
Did you comprehend that???
Too make it easier for you to understand,,it is easier to lift a fish into the boat with a 5 foot rod,,than an 8 footer..But then again,,I use a net or a gaff..
I just knew you were going to come back with a smart arzzed answer,Mr.Eggspurt !!! |
