| My 11 year old daughter wants to be a politician.So she can help change things. She sees the pollies as the people who make the rules up and she wants to change things from the way they are now. Wind her up and shes a smart little fighter. Hope shes happy when she makes it |

| Pete,,I was out at Ayers Rock,,as it was then known,,over 40 years ago.. I spent a lot of my time in the Alice at Ernie Perkins house,,Charlies brother..He taught me heaps out in the Tanami Desert.. And I will tell you this... There are places here,,that are far worse than what is at Ularu now.. The indigenous people of Mindoro,,the Mangyan,,have nowhere near the help that the Aborigine gets from the Australian Govt..They walk past my house every day,,in single file,,tattered clothes,,barefoot..Snot streaming down the face of babies.. |

Given the low unemployment rate one would assume these families to be a huge minority. We didn't spend either of our baby bonuses on nappies and formula. We put half aside in accounts for the kids and used the other half to subsidise mortgage repayments while the missus had 12 months off work each time. What better gift for your kid than to have mum's nurturing for a whole year? Not a day at daycare and not one formula feed for either girl until the missus went back to work. In fact the youngest never had formula at all. |
