| What captain says that about their own team! Players are entitled to comment on anything involving their side - It'd be different if Smith was commenting on an incident involving 2 other clubs. Cronulla have come out saying White's was a cheap shot, but nobody expects them to say that about Ross now are they? Keep it realistic. |

| Smith is captain, and one of his responsibilities is to answer media questions. We don't want everyone going all Wayne Bennett on us do we? He was asked what he thought and gave an HONEST answer. Christ, people complain of cliche answers and the usual boring ploitical correct stuff, as soon as a player opens up (think Matt Rogers on Thurston!) he gets knocked by all and sundry for it. If someone asked Tate in a media interview if he wanted to support Smith on his charge and he answered - "not really, I hate the @%@" I'd love it - even if it was a player I don't like bagging my fave! I hate sanitised media. |

| Smith and Gallen both should keep their bloody mouths shut over the pending hearing. They are paid to play footy for their respective clubs, the judicial people are paid to look after acts of foul play and treat them accordingly. I'm sure each club has a publicity officer paid to make statements to the media. What happens on the field stays on the field. Fair dinkum, these blokes are getting as sooky as the cricketers. |
