god some of you people are thick
carroll played for nz during the last world cup when representitive laws were relaxed to allow nrl players to represent other countries without it harming their chances of playing for australia
and as for thorn - he played for new zealand in a completely different code of football! he has only ever represented qld and australia in rugby league |

NZ whinge about players leaving there country behind so they can play Origin, then they do exactly the same with the TrIslands players.
As for the Polynesians and Maori players fitness levels,it can be compared to our own indigenous players. Its all a self-discipline problem.
A young player only has to look at Reuben Wiki to see what hard work and a self imposed alcohol ban can do for your career.Wiki could probably play for another few seasons and only consumes the traditional KAVA |

| If your birth certificate reads you were born in Australia then that is the country you play for and that applies to all other countries, including New Zealand |

| If you play State of Origin you play for the state in which you were born. If you were not born in N.S.W. or QLD you DO NOT PLAY.That should be the rules. You represent your country of birth at International level, the only exceptions should be for 2nd tier international teams(Assuming that Great Britan and N.Z. are 1st tier)an example would be Hazem playing for Lebanon or Vangana playing for Tonga(I think its Tonga). All the current New Zealand born players should be kicked out of state of Origin teams the can start with K.Hunt |

Having lived over here for 4 years my seasons have now adjusted for here, but i am sure Origin would be close to the end of the English League season so you're probably right, count us Poms out! Although the World Club Championship Leeds Rhinos V Melbourne Storm was high class, apart from the weather, but thats the norm over there.
I reckon give them the 3 squad placings for each team and see how it goes. If it doesn't work change the rules back again, simple. |

A bit racist aren't you fella.
If what you say is true, then why are there so many of us in League (anywhere in the world) Rugby (anywhere in the world) Gridiron and expanding into football and Aussie Rules.
Isn't it mindblowing to think that if we really trained and let go of overindulging in booze, women and song we could actually end up with no aussies in League but only us of Polynesian, Fijian heritage, Lebanese and other colours heritage?
What you are saying is similar to the fallacy in the European saying that if you are coloured or black then you automatically have a big appendage. Mate, we can train as good or better than other men and our appendages are not much different to that of any other man - take it from me, I mix with all men in my sporting and social life. |

| I like your ideas there..im thinking they should play origin as usual and then the winner of the series plays a nz-islander team or if it was possible a best of the rest of the world series.. maybe a mixture of kiwis, islanders and poms.. id pay to watch it! but im guessin the poms wouldnt allow there players to participate. The excitement of origin could continue for another 3 weeks!!! |

Just some ideas.
1) Why not have a maximum number of squad positions available for them, say 3 or 4. If they have played for their respective State under 19s.
or
2) Create a 3 way Competition. NSW, QLD, and Kiwis&Islanders
or
3) Not let them in at all and let them sort their own Comp out |

| I think if the Kiwi player has done all his junior football in Australia, and played for either NSW,or QLD,in junior rep teams, they should be the only kiwis eligable to concidered for origin. |

Origin should ONLY be for Australian players, to bring the internationals from other countries into it only destroys the conception of that contest.
Take a look at the City Vs Country sham they have today compared to pre-origin days when players did take pride in a bush jersey.
To allow overseas players in would only further damage the structure of the game.
To say players rather play Origin than represent there own country of birth is a blight on international footy.Thats what the powers should be trying to improve INTERNATIONAL games, not Origin. |

| I personally would love to see Sonny Bill play origin. If he`s playing in a NSW club team, and hasn`t played for a QL club team beforehand, then I think he should be able to represent NSW and play at what I believe the top level. |

| I don't doubt the kiwis' talent as athletes and they are a big part of rugby league, but it will be interesting to see how many cope with the new interchange rule as from my own personal experience they don't train as well generally as us Aussie's. |

I know how difficult the decision for young Chase Stanley was to decide whether to play for New Zealand or hold out and hope that he gets selected for State of Origin.
He also played for NSW in under 17's. He has also played Australian school boys.
Unlike Sonny Bill, he has played all of his junior football from the first time he put on boots in NSW and his heart told him to play for New Zealand. Although I believe he could of played state of origin for NSW eventually and would have played with a great deal of passion he knew by accepting the offer to play for New Zealand he would forgo the opportunity to play for NSW at state of origin level.
Another issue is I don't believe these boys' brought over from NZ by scouts of the NRL clubs when they are 15 or 16 should be elegible to play Australian School boys'. They are only taking up the spot of some kid who is Australian born and played all their junior footy in Australia! |

| That was just Gus blowing in his pants about 'Dunny Bill'. Fair dinkum, I wonder if Gus dreams about sexual fantasies with him. Every week, it's 'Dunny Bill' this and 'Dunny Bill' that. The big K1 wants to thank his lucky stars that he's not Goulds dog. He would call him "Sweetheart" |

watching gus gould and matt johns on the footy show rams home the point that alot of blues dont understand what origin means.
letting f--king kiwi internationals into origin would rob the game of its all its passion. if youre gonna do that then why not allow the poms to play as well? sure there are a couple of players of kiwi descent playing origin, but theyve accepted that playing origin means representing australia.
if the kiwis want more rep games then why dont they start their own north island vs south island origin? |
