15.Mateo - Nothing special, though he promised something at times (5)
16.Galuvao - Had the Inu dropsies, came good though (6)
17.Mannah - Not great, didn't live up to the hype promised by his eyebrows (4) |

Grothe is finally living up to his potential.
If anyone is to be found a club, Burt deserves a rich superannuation in england. |

Tahu to left centre, and Inu pushed to the wing I guess?
Unless Grothe can be found a club and shipped off, who do you drop from Inu, Grothe, Burt, Reddy? |

Here's how I rated the two sides (and yes, I too had more than a few beers!).
Melbourne -
1.Slater - Dangerous, but not at his best (8)
2.Turner - Solid, typical Turner (6)
3.Chambers - His performance shows he is suited to the Reds (4)
4.Inglis - Stood out in attack and defence as the likely game breaker, winning field goal looked like 5hit though! (8.5)
5.Nielsen - upstaged by Reddy, will get better (4)
6.Finch - Did his job, underrated performance I think (7)
7.Cronk - Instrumental in the Storm's rise to 4 straight GF's, ice in his veins! (8.5)
8.Tolman - Typical performance, did his job (6)
9.Smith - Classy from dummy half, usual Smith game (8)
10.White - Ran hard, tackled rather less hard (6)
11.Blair - Gave away 2 stupid early penalties, made up for it later (7)
12.Hoffman - Storm's most dangerous forward, made up for missing last year (7.5)
13.Johnson - What did he make, 40 tackles? Bit below average, but still very good (7)
14.Hinchliffe - Did he play? Haha, nah, he did ok (5)
15.Lima - Handy bloke to have off the bench, not as powerful as usual, did a job though (6)
16.Tandy - Some good hit ups (5)
17.Anderson - Young guy, looked dangerous at times, but a little reserved (5.5)
Parra -
1.Hayne - Kept quiet by a well drilled Storm side (6)
2.Burt - Showed some glimpses of past glory (7)
3.Inu - Dropsies cruelled his game from early on, not a good game (5)
4.Reddy - Defended well, scored a nice try over Nielsen (7)
5.Grothe - That finish to his try was top shelf, good game (7)
6.Mortimer - Played ok, not disgraced in his first massive game (6)
7.Robson - See Mortimer (6)
8.Cayless - Didn't tear his hammy, probably the best part of his day, still did a job though (6)
9.Keating - Not great in attack, tackled well though (6)
10.Moimoi - Quiet ealry, rampaging best late (7)
11.Hindmarsh - Tackle, tackle, tackle...(8.5)
12.Smith - Still looking in the sky for the Cronk bomb, somebody tell him Inglis has already caught it! (5) |

Woeful effort that try. Should never have been scored.
Yeah Shacks is a hindy like player, hard yards, very fit. Maybe shacks and mateo to start, smith to the bench... altho smith was rackin up 80min games towards the end there.
Good headache to have, hope the injuries stay away. And whoever is outside Tahu, leading try scorer. |

| Mateo would be eyeing off Lowrie's spot too. Not sure exactly how the pack will go next year. |

The medal is for MOTM for the game.
Cronk was outstanding for Storm. Fui and Hindy were enormous for parra, and deadset, one of them should have got it. No rule saying the winning team must get it. But, I thought Blair deserved it, he was awesome. But i was well pissed, so maybe not.
The game itself was awesome too. I wish Parra didnt hold back until the 60th minute, but hey, the Storm's experience was always going to be a major factor.
Parra will be better for it. Their team is only going to get better - Shacks Poore and Tahu. It will ensure that their is massive competition for spots. Wonder who Tahu will replace? Shacks in for Lowrie, Poore in for Fui to come off the bench. Forget it.
The storm however, as much as i despise them, are a dynasty. The chooks made three in a row, 4 in 5 years, then collapsed in a heap. The Storm are showing no such signs. They have their core group of guns, and somehow manage to bring in players who do their jobs. There is no weak link.
It would not surprise me one bit to see a repeat of this GF in 2010. |

Inglis???
No stand out there IMO.
Cronk deserved it. Even grub Slater said that as he was collecting the award. |

I have that feeling too - Hayne if Parra wins, Slater if it is the Storm, keep with the pre-game beat up about the two 'superstar fullbacks'.
IMO, Cronk and Inglis stood out for Melbourne, Hindmarsh was in the running to do a Brad Clyde and take it in a losing side.
Slater was good, but not outstanding. |

Yeah, I dont think so.
I reckon it was as good as settled before the game, load up on Hayne and Slater mrs selector, cause tonight Im only picking one or the other depending on who wins. |

I can't think that this is correct, but the radio just claimed (well, the DJ on the radio, not the radio itself - it can't talk) that the CC Medal was awarded to the best player over the entire finals series! If that is the case, fine, Slater was worthy. But since when has that been the deal?
I'm sure the DJ must just be fked in the head! |

I just dont understand how he got the cc medal?
He didn't create a thing, and tried his hardest to get Parra back in the game. I thought Cronk was good, and Smith the grubby jerkoff, and Blair. |

Always a laugh hearing Eels fans etc complain about refs when they only made it to the eight from benefical refereeing in their last 3 games and then get help to have Hayne play in Final when she should have been outed.
The NRL always gets their "prefered" teams to the Grand finals. Same same |
