Mate if you are going to put a half as a back up, why would you not go with Princey... Cronk is third in the line at best... Must be a smokey just to get him some experience in the side... given Locky will be gone next year, prince might be too old and they'l bring in cooper for the next few years.

I don't get the idea of using Cronk as the utility if Hunt is ruled out.

Lockyer, Thurston and Smith are all 80 minute players. While Cronk may have started his footy life as a fullback, it is unlikely he could hold a back 5 position at origin!

Unless they think an injury to any of the 1-5 would see Lockyer go to fullback and Cronk into the halves?

Let's face it, Hodges is in the team - the chances of an injury are very high!

Nice side on paper. Better than my Blues one anyway. The only concern is Cronk as 18th man. He's not exactly interchangeable. I would've thought David Stagg would make a great 18.

Gee alot of injuries my QSOO side 1.Slater 2.Boyd 3.Tonga 4.Hodges 5.Walker[playing well for Titans]6.Lockyer 7.Thurston, forwards would consist of Taylor,Price,Thaiday,Croo ker,Johnson,Smith if fit, his replacement P.J Marsh[to counter act Ennis as a nuisance player to opposition teams].Bench players Stagg,Myres,Prince[for that impact off the bench]and M. Scott who also could start in the run on side.

Ha Ha, yeah just saw some of his magical moments. When he gave himself after dropping the ball. It looked like a knock back to me but he made himself look guilty.

Re:Qld SOO 3 team Reply to this message
Dell is lucky he has a mate for a coach. Earlier in the season Bennet threatened to hook him if he didn't run forward and at the time Dell responded but he has drifted back to his old habits of leaving his wing and playing a forward role with little effect. Twice tonight he was thrown into touch a couple of metres short of the line, the second time fair enough but the first time he could have and should have run infield.
The first try Easts scored tonight was courtesy of Dell.

Re:Qld SOO 3 team Reply to this message
So who do we need to replace at the moment? In the forwards we got Petro and Hannant.

Backs could possibly Hunt and Falou.

Seems we have quite a few replacements for our forwards. Taylor definately put his hand up tonight. Scott has been playing well for the cowboys. I havent seen Shillington play but have heard his name a bit. Also Myers is in one of the top performing teams and has done origin before.

Who do we bring in for a utility player and winger? Also if Hodges is fit do we bring him into the side and drop tonga? or can we maek room for both?

Time to bring back the Dell?

Crujuco, crujuco,,,,,,,,,,you are saying that in jest of course.
Dell was the main handicap for Saints in the first half tonight although he did atone somewhat in the second.
He has forgotten that an attacking player carrying the ball must run forward towards their opponent's goal line, not crablike in any direction.
Quite simply, Dell is not up to first grade standard.

Re:Qld SOO 3 team Reply to this message
I think Shillington and Scott have dibs on the two front row spots. Mind you, neither would be as damaging as Taylor was.

And I think if we need another winger it won't be Dell but would be good if it was. Hell, Lote may even be available by then.

Re:Qld SOO 3 team Reply to this message
After Dave Taylors game against the warriors tonight he should get a bench spot for game 3.

Looks like Falou hurt his ankle bad enough that he will be long odds to play next origin. Time to bring back the Dell?

Dame Edna won't make it. She's reserve grade at best. Her old flame Sir Les Patterson is the one to get. He's retired from Cultural Attache to the World, making a comeback to save NSW.

True, but the blues need help in the forward pack. We dont. She could partner Brett White in the front row. hahahahahahah
